G4's two longest-running and defining series, Attack of the Show! and X-Play, will be ending their run at the end of 2012. Both shows will include original episodes through the end of the year, and will look back at theirmost memorable moments as we lead up to their final episodes. X-Play made its debut almost two years earlier, on April 28, 2003 (on G4's previous incarnation: TechTV), and immediately became the go-to destination for young men seeking the latest video game news, honest reviews, hands-on demos and exclusive video game trailers and footage. The year-end celebration will take you back through highlights of these landmark shows' history, including its exclusive live-from-the-floor coverage of San Diego Comic-Con and E3.

Not sure what kind of programming they will show on the rebrand. GQ tv? G4Men? Sounds like another Spike.tv if they're going that route. I just hope there's more COPS to watch !

G4's been trash for several years now... to me anyway.

If I wanted to watch all day marathons of cops, cheaters, "ninjas" etc., I would switch to... wait never mind, I would never want to watch any of those shows on any channel.

I get the Canadian version of G4 which is owned by Rogers. I have no idea how this rebrand will affect it. From what I can guess, it seems AOTS and Xplay will be canned so Rogers would have to replace it with something else. It's a shame you guys down south don't get to watch Electric Playground (called EP Daily now) and Reviews on the Run (was called Judgment Day in the US). These are two Canadian only video game shows and I find them to be a million times better than AOTS and Xplay.

If G4 Canada does get axed, I'll just have to watch these two shows on CityTV.

G4 was best when it was about actual games. The old MMO series, the competitive game shows; back in the early 2000's when Asheron's Call and shit were out. I miss those days.

Does G4 US have no tech programming at all? Like they don't even have any of the old shows running in non-peak hours? G4 Canada has some pure tech shows but they are all old shows of Call For Help and The Lab that run at like 5 am.

I'm sad about this. I was hoping that it was just going to be rebranded. It makes me nostalgic for the old days. I used to watch TechTV all the time. Early X-Play, The Screen Savers, heck they even used to show anime sometimes. I have watched a couple of episodes of X-Play recently. They have said a couple of times, "Meh what do we care about this? We're canceled." Jokingly maybe? Admittedly the channel has sucked for a long time but they don't have to replace it with that other crap.
