Report: Square Enix trademarks 'Circle of Mana'

Square Enix has registered trademarks for, among other things, "Circle of Mana" in Japan, according to FF-Reunion, suggesting a new game in Square's beloved Mana series. The last Mana game to see release was 2007's Heroes of Mana; before that, the very weird physics-based action RPG Dawn of Mana came out on PS2.

The other trademarks reportedly filed include Wizardlings, which was also recently filed in the US by Square Enix, along with Agent 47, which refers to the Hitman character, and "Ultima Box," which likely refers to the gigantic collection announced recently. Whatever these are, it's likely we'll find out at TGS this month.

I've lost all hope in Mana, they've dropped the bomb on the last few entries they did and I doubt they'll ever go back to making them as good as what Legends, Secret and Secret 2 was.

Console release and more like Legend than Children/Dawn, make it happen SE. But in all seriousness, probably a social game or something really terrible, like a sequel to Heroes.

Unless it's going to be digital release only it's a bit late to be releasing big IPs on consoles on their way out.

3DS/phones/facebook are the only platforms that make sense, unless this game is more than 2 years away from release.

If its like Children/Dawn of Mana then 3DS can have that shit.

Watch it's going to be a prequel to Heroes of Mana (which would of been a good game if it wasn't for the crappy pathfinding programming, and the large square grid system) since seikden densetsu 3 was the sequel to Heroes of Mana. Though I hope it's something hitting closer to secret of mana.

Secret of Mana style gaming, allowing for co-op play remotely, without sticking everyone in ring menu pause everytime someone wanted to pause, Seiken Densetsu 3 type class progression, but with a more diverse skill build between weapons, offensive, and deffensive magic builds.

Well many reports keep mentioning next year/2014 for the next Sony and Microsoft consoles. There's one release that's supposed to happen in 2013 and another early 2014.
If you count WiiU next gen starts in 2 months or so. This obviously does not apply to portables because 3DS and Vita are new.
And those reports are more than rumors, there are actual people in the industry saying that.

Figuring they don't do releases till holiday season that puts us at 2+ years. No way MS or Sony releases a system in 2013 its to late for that.
