The show's still fine.
Yes the fanservice is a smidge more than the first half, and imouto shit is always dumb and has to gtfo the industry, but the rest is still a quality tier respectable in any decade of anime.
(Though, re: fanservice, remember SAO development was guided by the spergy madman, no magic, sword fightan', dream tower ideal. SRSBSNS.
ALO was likely a far more traditionally developed and targeted game. Therefore, tittays.)
Besides the over the top villain of the season, the only other issue is the pace/timing of the plot, and even then, it's not bad, it's just not perfect, because the conclusion arrives... hmm, let's say like an exponential curve.

As for the dual wield

It becomes a thing explained later on, but in games where DW isn't a skill, what he basically is doing is using one handed sword skill, just in his right and left hand simultaneously. He can manage it because of his godlike speed and timing ability.

whats her name, little fairy NPC, tells him what to cast, guessing she has access to alot of the games info, just repeating what she tells him like in episode 19 to cast high lvl stuff since that is all thats required apparently.

They also practiced a lot. In between scenes. We have no sense of time. Also remember, he's pretty much a prodigy at everything involving the game.

I personally don't like it. Would be okay if there was some point where he could trained up his magic skills off-screen but when did that happen?
I mean, the game is confirmed to have actually required skill levels to use certain abilities and such. No way I'll believe that was a basic level illusion spell.

he leveled up his stealth skill in SAO but since that's not a real thing in this game maybe it just got converted to his magic skill instead?
