I'm just wondering why he keeps watching it then. Fucking nerd hipster annoying as shit.
I liked it. Can't wait for season 2!

I was gonna say something soon if you didn't, lol.
Can't wait for season 2...Spoiler: show
Finished it earlier this evening. I'd rate it a 5/10.
I probably wouldn't recommend it to others to watch.
This show was so offensively bad, shit. It's a shame I got bored enough to finish it.
I recommended this show to literally everyone I knew because I knew it was perfect for entry-level anime watchers.
I enjoyed it more than enough to keep watching, and it got a few friends back into anime so it's an overwhelming success to me.
They executed that last episode about as well as they could have, given the horrid plot and senseless writing. I don't think it was as atrociously bad as the novels were, probably because a lot of the really absurd trite was toned down or made vague enough that you don't see just how crazy it is.
I enjoyed it overall. It was amazing at the start and slowly slipped towards the ALO stuff. But all in all I would watch it again.
You all need to read it, it's pretty good stuff
Rewatched the episode again, when Kirito describes what happened to Kayaba, he states that "jisatsu shita" which some how gets translated as "copied", when it is actually "Suicide".... hmm....
Kirito turns to Lyfa as the SAO world appears and tells Lyfa, "My status has reset now. I'm pretty weak, will you help me clear it Lyfa?", but it turned out in the translation as " I've gotten pretty weak, will you give me a hand". Thats not the same.......
Version I watched he'd mentioned his stats getting reset. But at some point I'm personally willing to give liberty to translators to not make things so mechanical in otherwise casual conversations.
Still over all meh to me, but still enjoyable. I would re-watch BD quality when it comes out.
Wondering what Kirito mouthed at the end.
Also,
Fuck sake.Stat Reset
It's not the show of the season this time (That'll probably be Psycho Pass or Shin Sekai Yori), but it's still plenty quality despite the flaws that creeped in.
I kind of hope, especially with the Progressive series of LN, that they one day do a "SAO: Brotherhood" kind of thing. Use ALL of the material for SAO regardless of when it was published to fill out the story, don't make a couple cuts for fitting it into an airing schedule, and make a few story edits/additions to dot some i's and cross t's and fix a handful of problems.
And yeah, strip out the stupid imouto love shit, you can substitute with just normal family distance/togetherness without crossing the line.
Spoiler: show
Eh, I doubt it'll get a remake later. Stuff like that happening seems pretty rare.
Sugou being a creepy rapist was the best part, if they remove it... what's the point of ALO?
I still think they should've just had a happy end when Kirito beat SAO.
ALO and GGO read like a bad fanfic, honestly. Seemingly some don't agree with Ker but I'm with him on how this portion ended. In all honesty, after the SAO arc ended we got nothing but contrived crap in the form of ALO's plot.
The villain is horrible, the motives are there but still terrible...I mean, I don't know. I got into this because SAO was seemingly a nice relation to .hack for me (during the SAO arc, anyway) and then ALO happened and I just went "uhh...well, might as well finish it". I will agree that the wrap up was fine by me considering what they had to work with but I would not be interested in a season 2. GGO didn't do much for me in the LN and maybe I'm being a jerk by saying it but meh. I loved what SAO's arc had to offer and once ALO hit I knew what I was getting as I had already read but figured I'd finish it out anyway for the sake of completion and "those feels" from the final episode.
I gotta mirror the whole "SAO part was good, ALO part was meh" sentiment. Personally I would've preferred if they did the entire first season within SAO to really flesh out the world and the side characters (more two/three parters would've been nice) and saved ALO for a second season as overall the entire show felt kinda rushed once things got to the end of SAO.
Ok show overall, could've been better, but certainly wasn't the worst thing I've ever seen.
