The core plot of the series is fine, if you ask me.
It's how they went from point A to B to C that was badly executed.

I enjoyed it a lot, The last 8-9 episodes wasn't as good but it was still fun, Is it worth watching Accel world if i Enjoyed this?
Finally got to watch all of this and would say I thoroughly enjoyed it. First arc was well done, but some early/middle parts could have been done better or rather inserted. Second arc was acceptable, everything that was bad with it was bad simply because they didn't give themselves enough time. I don't understand why people would say the series is bad or shit.
If they had the foresight to change that one week deadline before she was married into a 2~4 week deadline then they could have fleshed out the explanation of everything more and prevented some deus-ex machinas. They could have ended at the SAO arc and just went straight to the school and after party stuff and it would have been good. But the ALO arc provided the only single acceptable method I could think of to get him back into a vmmorpg, and that then would lead to an acceptable starting point for everyone playing vmmorpgs again and the new worlds and etc.
I guess ALO was bad.. but because it could be fixed by adding in explanations that were left out it's not really anywhere as bad as it seems? If they released like a couple of ova episodes to fill in the blanks it would be much much better.
Depends, do you watch this series for the Kirito power level wanking bishounen like most of the fanbase I know? Because Accel World places the character as a fatass that loses every now and then, and I suppose the background character actually does something beside just gaping at the main character's power level.
Finally finished reading all (almost) the translated LN material. Really wish the last parts of volume 11 were translated so I could read them. Alicization started with "wtf am I reading", followed by some boring, but now I'm really into it. It's also making me think my silly idea of Kirito making Brain Burst isn't as farfetched as I thought.
I wonder if Phantom Bullet, Mothers Rosario, and some of the side stories would be enough to fill 24 episodes. Or if it would be too much for 24 episodes. Sadly I can't imagine Alicization being animated until a third season at best. I want to see it go that far so bad lol.
Tap just finished translating volume 11 for those of you who follow the light novels. It's still technically a rough draft that hasn't gone through all the proper editing yet though. http://taptaptaptaptap.wordpress.com/
I can't decide if I should read Prelude 3 and Chapter 6 before or after the editing...
I don't know how long it usually takes for Aniplex to dub but any kind of release date seem to be kept secret.
Release date isn't relevant at all, since I sure as fuck won't be watching that horrible dub.
I honestly don't have a problem with the dub, at least from that trailer. Then again, I tend to have much lower expectations for everything then most people and rarely dislike a dub/anime at all. We'll see how it goes once I actually see the dub itself outside the trailer. Also, you won't see a release date too soon, think the last volume of the show releases in June in Japan, doesn't it?
I was a dub exclusive person. Only time I'd watch subs is if I was forced to (and generally it'd be like a movie or something of something I was already watching in English)
Inuyasha Final Act came out and wasn't in English(and I liked their dub a lot), had no choice but to go with Subs.
Never looked back (aside from classics I already enjoyed in dub, such as dbz, Rurouni Kenshin, etc.)
If Aniplex is distributing it expect a ridiculous pricetag similar to Madoka, Gurran Lagann Bluray, and Bakemonogatari.
Also, CS you should go back and watch Kenshin subbed. Vastly superior voice work.
I've seen clips of it; so I'll agree they have some pretty awesome voices, but Kenshin's is just meh. Same with Goku in JP dbz.
Don't get me wrong, I have no issues with subs, I'll watch either or, doesn't matter to me. Considering some shows I've enjoyed a great deal didn't receive dubs, Mashiro Iro Symphony for example, though just one of many. I seem to be watching more subs then dubs lately, doesn't bother me, I've gotten used to subs. All my rl friends that are into anime, despise subs, but to each their own I guess. either way I'll probably be getting this, as long as it's not a $500 blu ray like Gurran Lagann. However, I did purchase the limited editions of Madoka Magica, as well as the Durarara!! Blu Ray set. I liked the series and want it in my collection, just got to wait and see on price.
But yeah, dub or sub, either or works for me.
Apparently toonami got a hold of this and will start airing in august. I might bother attempting to watch it to support both.
yeah, saw toonami would be airing it in the same article I just saw pricing on. If I still had cable I'd watch it on toonami, but I got rid of cable because I wasn't watching it at all anymore.

priced pretty much just as I expected it to be, even guessed the number of volumes right.
I'm the idiot that pays more. I paid about that much for my Code Geass DVD's, due to buying all the limited editions. Not sure if I'll be buying them at that price immediately though, but I'll most likely eventually get them anyway.
I'm surprised there's still a market, for $360 series, when there's so much more available for dirt cheap (Non-anime shows) or superior quality anime downloads, for free. A shame something couldn't be worked out for reasonable online distribution availability (CR doesn't count).
Some people have more brains than sense. I probably bought a Cowboy Bebop bootleg set back in the day, but I don't care. No show is worth hundreds of dollars, especially one with under 30 episodes.
The fate/zero or kara no kyoukai bd box sets might be worth it... but even those are a tough call.
