90% of anime follows teenagers/kids, it's not exactly a flaw if the characters don't suck.

Aye I know, but the kids in LH just feels like needy bitches with way too many flaws. No balance (especially that healer "leech" lol). The "adults" on the other hand had plenty of expansion possibility without the need to bring the kids into it. If they needed "low level content" to introduce to none MMO players they could've easily squeezed it in via flashbacks of the current chars! Anyways it's just a minor gripe overall that's biased towards kids in general (teens I'm fine with). The fact the "adults" in LH are competent and actually are the ones to accomplish things is what I like about the overall aspect of it.

And you considering leaving your setting early a good thing, which makes the characters even more important. But what characters are actually worthwhile when you take away fanservice?

The fanservice thing is indeed a bit of a gripe. But considering how they abandoned Klein and Agil more or less I think they had a chance to be quite decent.

The author is actually doing a rewrite of the Aincrad arc called Sword Art Online Progressive. I think there are 2 volumes out now. The first story is how Kirito and Asuna first met which was episode 2 of S1. It's almost 200 pages long and they condensed it down to 1 episode, so obviously there is a lot of stuff that was missed. So far, it's taken that AoT approach you were alluding to.

Nice to know, I've not started reading them yet, but this increased my interest a bit.

I'm just waiting for season to complete before beginning on Season 2

Agreed; Sinon either needs to die or get over it. She's great in badass mode, but in bitch mode it just kills the episodes.

Ep before this one was perfectly fine imo, I'm glad they're actually bothering with a bit of character building because SAO/ALO basically had none of it. This one just felt unnecessarily drawn out and more like filler. I'd rather have seen more of the BoB fights expanded on than an entire episode of them getting cozy.
