Maximum Feels. It hit even harder than reading the light novel for me.
Ep 24:

I really hope they do a season 3. Next arc is what makes this series really stand out IMO.
Long as its more action and less melodrama I'm down.
Maybe it's because I revisited this arc later, but I found alicization to be pretty tough to follow comparatively. A lot of good stuff for sure though.
That's because the way alicization is introduced is weird and possibly stupid. Like three hours of reading about chopping a tree every day and not knowing wtf is going on, who are these people, and where did everyone else go? If they start out with that nobody (that hasn't been spoiled) is going to know what's going on, nor will they give a fuck. Anime needs to save that for the third season, and put in the first 'interlude' or whatever it was as the way to finish off this season.
Is season 2 over now? its just where i get it from makes it seem like they arent expecting a 25th episode, 1st season has 25 iirc doesnt mean anything just curious.
25th was the OVA/hour recap+20min new footage (during season 1)
so yeh it's over, go watch it. I'm watching it now![]()
damnslightly on topic was going through my external hd that i keep anime/movies tv etc on watched a episode of season 1 of sao was the episode that involved ppl faking dying in safe zone they showed what seemed to be death gun since his guild was hired to kill some peeps.
25th episode is an epilogue episode in first season, not a recap. I'm seeing places listing sao's 24th episode as end though, so I r sad that they're not leaving off with a cliffhanger.
Ooops. Yeh that's what I meant. Not very good with my words though.
Still, just finished the entire second season.
- The pacing felt nice this time
- I enjoyed Kirito's development during the GGO-era and how he was still somewhat suffering post-SAO
- Then, the second half developed Asuna a bit more, but also explored a rather interesting/nice subject of using such tech for people with illnesses/disabilities
- I kinda like how all this is slowly creeping into Accel World too
^ edit: to clarify, this is about the technology (Accel World and SAO are set in the same universe, if years apart; also made by the same guy)
Looks like I'll really need to read the light novels now.
Alicization is where you really start getting giddy about the slow creep into accel world. Start with volume 9 if you want to skip straight to where the anime ended.
Oh I didn't know accel world is the same universe, now I feel the need to watch it even though I decided to skip it when it first came out D:
Aye, the characters from SAO are not mentioned though. However without spoiling it, there is only one tiny reference that tells us that it's in the same universe. But given the tech used and also as Deadgye said, the advancement of the tech really touches on the final product that is in Accel World.
Also don't take the fact that the hero is a fat loser lightly. It's a lot more enjoyable than you think. Apparently this is what most people got turned away at, because the main dude is not a bishounen.
I'm on S1 Ep 15. This show really jumps the fucking shark doesn't it.
Depending on who you ask, the show gets dumb immediately after the SAO arc or it was always dumb but at least masquerading with "consequences" in SAO.
The end half of S1 is meh but S2 is pretty ok.
Yep
