If you want the discount pricing, you need to link the account w/3 service lines.

Otherwise you pay retail

can you preorder directly from apple?

Whenever I preordered my iphone from ATT two years ago for the iPhone 4 some how they managed to send me two phones, one at contract price and one at retail price, overdrafting my bank account, returned the one that they charged at retail price and they charged me a restocking fee of 10% which was like 80 bucks. Trying to stay away from preordering thru ATT

Anyone familiar with "grandfathered" accounts? I'm still rocking that iphone 2g (Edge) unlimited @$20/mo with AT&T. If they let me keep the plan, but upgrade the speed, sign me up for another 2 yrs.

According to ATT, you'll only lose your grandfathered account if you want tethering/mobile hot spot.

As I've never ordered an iPhone on release, I am planning to pre-order it tomorrow. Is it generally something I need to stay up until 12AM (or whatever time they are planning to let it go on the online store) to order? Or do I have some time before they run out of stock online? I am planning to pre-order it and pick it up from the store.
