They almost beat SF @ home in one of those losses too, was at the game it was sloppy and SF was lucky to come away with the win. Also they barely lost to BAL before that span of games lost in the last quarter by 3 annnnnnnnnnnnd I remember something crazy about the NYG game where they should have won but the refs fucked up some bullshit with Cruz and NYG got really lucky at the very end of the game earlier in the season.

How do you not think Seattle looks good on paper? Their defense is top 5 in the league, they have a strong running game, and a promising new QB.

Arizona has tons of young talent on the defense, Larry Fitzgerald, and.. yeah, okay, they may be a little thinner than Seattle.

most people think a QB is the only thing that determines how good a team is, that is "paper" SEE: SMITH, SKELTON/KOLB/TJAX (he had some nice wins last year) this is also why most people thought STL was the best team in the NFCW before last year started because they had Bradford higher on their list.




In terms of funny people should take a peak @ the first 2 weeks of passer rating and shit like that it's so backwards looking at this point, Ponder, Bradford, ASmith, RGIII, Rivers of the teams who have played 2 games

thats my point - you look at seattle's defense and say "hey thats a really good defensive unit with some great players" but it doesn't translate to paper. They aren't a top 5 defense according to stats (as of last year)

can you really argue with it though? The packers were 15-1 while giving up the most yards in nfl history. The patriots were 13-3 and #1 seed in the afc giving up like 3 less yards. A good quarterback can make up for pretty much anything

nah i'm not saying it's wrong i mean fuck especially as a fan of an elite QB team or whatever you have seen your team carried to wins time and time again of course you're going to think it's the only thing that really matters but i think some teams are chipping away at that logic a little bit at a time with these wins and close games showing well rounded teams can at least hang. I mean this is why every SF fan hated ASMITH for so long because he was no where near elite and is not able to do the things the elite QBs do, the only reason he's having success is he's playing smarter and not trying to emulate those top tier QBs. Even SF vs NO last year it came down to a shoot out in the final quarter the only difference was SF def kept them in the game with turnovers etc.

i doubt those elite QBs keep performing this poorly throughout the year it's hard to imagine really I mean at least in NE's case everyone know a lot of it has to do with the new oline and protection which was expected

Look at the winning QB of the last 10ish SBs. I don't think there's a Trent differ in the bunch. They're all hall of famers. Bad or mediocre QBs do not win superbowls in this NFL.

I think that's fair, it just requires so much more flawless play imo. A few bounces don't go your way and you lose basically by default since you don't have a pre-2012 drew brees that can say "fuck it" and score 28 points in the 4th quarter.

I'm also officially on the "holy fuck we need normal refs back asap" train. After the patriots game - which they absolutely deserved to lose and it was retarded that they had a chance to win it - i came to this realization. They called back a patriot TD with 40 seconds left on a holding call that was 100% not holding. The regular officials make horrid calls too, yes, but seeing the effects of just one call like that in the outcome of a game, I want officials I actually trust in there making the calls. It messes with your head the entire game and there's always that sense of doubt.
