Dawn Drops aren't even the problem. It's the fact that people are buying single over-aspected crystals for 20k EACH. I can make 400k an hour doing this. That's far faster than trading in Dawn Drops for eight hours.

Regardless, even though I don't think they're going to divide all player gil by ten, if they do for some reason, I'll just start buying up expensive items before the migration. I'll spend all my gil and have it in equity.

Negative, that is simply commerce with existing gil. What we are seeing right now is inflation, to be combated by forced devaluation, which royally screws over anyone who did not participate in Clickageddon.

I think the goal is if they delete gil by a 10th, then they will delete all gil that was just added by Atmos. Think about it. If you have 20mil, you will have 2mil. That's a big loss.

They certainly will accomplish that; but that's screwing over the entire playerbase for an egregious oversight on Dev Team's part.

The wealth gap is going to be just as big before as it is after. People with capped Gil go from 999m to 99m, and people with 9k end up with 900gil. The difference before Atomos was the super wealthy had to invest time to become super wealthy whether it was through crafting, gathering, or getting lucky with materia conversions. Now anyone can go sit at Atomos for a day and be "rich" in terms of pre-Foundation Day. Some people don't want to do it because it's an exploit and they think it's wrong, and some just think it's boring. Those people are going to be left behind remarkably in 2.0 because there isn't a way to bring that much gil that quickly in the way Atomos is being handled.

Im pretty sure they are just decreasing the max gil count from 999m to 99m. I dont think if you have less than 100m you will be effected. It just means 100m+ will go to 99,999,999 anything less than that will stay the same.

My mastery of the English language is by no means splendid, but when everyone says "cut/reduced by 1/10", doesn't that imply that it is reduced BY 10%, rather than TO 10% (cut by 90%) which is what they would seem to be doing?
(redenomination is the only interpretation that would make sense, not even SE would screw their playerbase as bad as just pushing in a 99,999,999 cap, I think. [I have gotten 3 extra chars just incase])

Yes, that's what I meant. What they are actually doing is that they're reducing it BY 90%, to 10% in quantity (but not necessarily in value), not BY 1/10th (10%) as so many keep saying.

I'm borderline ready to make a post in the official forums, but I know it would just get lost in the noise. Folks right now are making in 2-3 days what it took me 2 years to earn. I don't have the time or ability to partake in "clickagedeon" (as it was nicely dubbed above) and that's a terrible oversight on the part of SE. I've generally believed everything Yoshi-P touches turns to gold, but this is a fantastic fuck up on their part.

Despite it being the stupidest of stupid ideas, I would now fully endorse a gil wipe of some kind.

In the Live Letter they showed Archer and it could shoot and use WS with no arrows equipped (they appeared on the character but they weren't in any slot in the equip tab). Unless it's just a pre-alpha thing it's safe to assume arrows are getting axed.

If you can get through to them, more power to you. People on the OF genuinely believe that Atomos isn't affecting the economy right now, nor believe you can make the gil people are claiming you can. Something needs to be done though :/
