But unfortunately the true salafiyyah now can be misunderstood since many people call themselves salafi. Jihadi salafi, scientific salafi, political salafi, etc.

Well, i'm not quite sure; but to refute the misconceptions and spread the doctrine of salaf among muslims and non muslims, for everyone to know the truth.

Unfortunately salafis do not have media power in the muslim world like the muslim brotherhood and other deviant sects.

It's funny though because you will rarely hear that terminology used. The Levant is not drawn with Israel as an actual entity and is referred to as Palestine. You can veil Salafism as peaceful all you'd like, but that region is far too poor and far too middle ages and has far too many weapons for them not to be dangerous. I can imagine that christians in the US will be very similar should things get much worse economically.

It's also ridiculous to say that because Salafism is old, it is not represented by Salafi-Jihadism or Wahhabist. The only reason Salafism is growing so fast is because of the truth it is spreading to the militant followers. People aren't deciding to join the most ARCHAIC of Islamic beliefs because it is so pure and peaceful. They are deciding to do it because they are poor as fuck, dumb as fuck, and have nothing else to lose. This sect of Islam is the most brutal (regardless of the peace proclaimed in some sections of the Qu'ran) and it is the most oppressive. All Sunni countries are essentially Salafi, at least to the extent that the majority of people living in them are subjected to such rule, even if the rulers do not subject themselves to any such constraints. Most madrassas teach Wahhabism/strict Salafism and kids are brought up thinking the world is flat and created in 7days.

Yeah, he's pretty angry, but I think it's mostly justifiable. He could've done without the slurs, though.

I'm sure people on here are more likely to be aware of the shit happening in Europe, but since I wrote it for Facebook I may as well copy it here:

Some context for the unfamiliar: England (Europe in general) has been experiencing massive floods of immigrating muslims over the past 5-10 years. Most people didn't particularly care, because most people aren't inherently pricks. Unfortunately, the muslims starting pushing these (often secular) countries to start making laws to accommodate their backward fucking religion. If people said "no, we don't think you should be allowed to beat your wife just because your religion is cool with it" they were immediately labeled racist/islamophobic.

Certain countries started to fight back the flood by creating laws that would force muslims to integrate into the societies they were supposed to be joining (see France making the burqas/complete head coverings illegal), but this, too, was labeled racism. Ok, that one is closer to racism, but being American I can appreciate trying to force people to integrate. That's what we were built on; a bunch of immigrants who kept some of their traditions, but gave most of them up in order to form a more unified "American culture." Everyone lost stuff, but where things were lost, they picked up traditions from the other immigrants (see how many people celebrate cinco de mayo, or st. patty's day, even if they are just convenient excuses to get wasted).

I'm tired so may be a stupid question, but how/why did the christian holy wars or crusades stop/end? And maybe there's some way to expedite this shit.
Or maybe we just need to put an iPhone in all their hands so they have something better to do.

The crusades ended because people got tired of conquest in the name of God after 200 years straight of throwing away money and lives for it.

There are a lot of factors over several hundred years that lead Christianity to its current state, but probably the most important event was the Protestant Reformation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protestant_Reformation

It greatly weakened the central power of the catholic political machine and lead to increased literacy of the populace by insisting that bibles be translated into the native language of the common man (honorable mention goes to the technological advances of printing machines as well).

Pope Urbain tried to appealed to the masses claiming 'they were going to save their Christian brothers from the barbaric Muslims.' That didn't go so well, so they were promised 'unimaginable riches' and 'salvation in the eyes of God,' and shit worked. The ones that came back, came empty handed. Eventually the French, British, said 'fuck it.'

Look up "enlightenment". Or "humanism".
The 18th century was the turning point between theocratic Europe and secular Europe.
Note that early secular Europe was a pretty bloody time in itself, hence why France's post-revolution period earned the nickname "the terror", an era when paranoia led to delation which led to death by guillotine.

i can only speak from a belgian perspective, but the majority of our immigration has been Morrocan in the last 50 or so years. (before that, it was Italian immigration - we needed manpower in our downright dangerous mines, they needed to flee Mussolini)
And given the size of the country, it's started to become a problem.
First it was far-right racist parties speaking against immigration, but now even the democratic right is joining in.*
We just can't afford to allow everyone in anymore, it's not a matter of racism but a matter of sustainability.

*In US terms: far-right=repubs, right=democrats. By our standards, you guys don't have left-wing (socialist) parties, let alone far-left parties (anarchists&communists).

No true scotsman complaints have no place in religious discussion, we're talking about what people believe and how they act in relation to it, not the inherent superiority of one heritage.
