Very likely what sells me a Wii U also. As long as they have learned from their mistakes with the Wii production and there are some readily available in March. At this point I haven't heard of anything else that would get me excited to purchase before MHU launches.

I'm not sure Capcom understands that the core people in NA that play Monster Hunter.... PLAY Monster Hunter. I've spent countless hours on every version I could get my hands on. Support us more!

My biggest problem with the Wii version is lack of people to play it with. If I have the money this might convince me to buy one too.

Want me to check and see how many are on atm? Was wanting to play tri again today anyways with all this talk.

780 total, not counting Rookie channel because I can't go there anymore. Player count is def down than what it used to be, but people are still playing and that is a good thing.

if it was a worldwide player base it would be much better and at least you'd get to play with your over sea's LS mates then

Been wanting to get past the first damn Jhen myself. I am just not sure if there are enough people around to hope to get that done...

Been playing MHP3rd HD Ver. because all this talk is driving me crazy... Once Japan gets MHU in December the HD streams are going to make it so much worse. Can't wait for the torture.

Man, I really don't want to pay for a Wii U just so that I can play one game. I hate you Capcom.

I mean, I feel like I feel for WoW when it comes to this. They boasted that they had, what, six million subscribers at one point? How many people do you actually play with? Do you really need 10000 on a server? XI had maybe 3000 people at peak time, half JP, and you knew most of the people you played with. It was a good environment.

When it comes to this, it would be nice to have a group of regulars, although I got a kick out of helping others with lesser gear or just needing a quest done.

Yeah, I got Tri almost a year after it came out and I never had any trouble doing online play with randoms. Rooms always filled out pretty quickly.

Capcom talks Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate online details, build differences, localization and more
    - once again, no online for 3DS version
    - Tri servers will be shut down eventually
    - didn't want to shut them down until players could move onto a new game
    - most likely will not be able to transfer Wii save to 3DS or Wii U
    - uses Nintendo's servers for online
    - not sure on regional servers yet
    - Capcom USA waiting on Wii U builds to play
    - no word on transferring Japanese 3DS save to the NA 3DS build
    - highly unlikely that 3DS will get online
    - shouldn't be any differences in content between the two games

Araujo on the long time it takes to localize Monster Hunter game…

“No, we don’t enjoy seeing you suffer… Localization is just one of those things that takes time and a lot of strategy. For one, it’s not just translation. Plus, we wanted to deliver a title that had full online multiplayer integration (Wii U), and that took a lot more development. But now we can offer you MH3U on the Wii U, with HD graphics, online, save-sharing with the 3DS version… that’s all awesome stuff – but it all takes time.”

Svensson on additional Wii U support…

    - subtle differences in feature set of Ultimate from the original Japan release of 3G
    - no official bundles in states
    - may feature soft bundle purchase option within the Capcom Store

Aww man.. I mean I know when MH3U comes out we won't need to play Tri anymore really but I hate to see that game go. I put well over 500 hours on it, easily one of the most fun games I've ever played with friends.

Though I feel really bad for people who picked up the game on a whim really recently. That's basically six and a half months for them to enjoy the online play and beat all the content.. What a drag. Really sad to see that one go, but I guess it was inevitable.

Capcom's consumer software senior vice president Christian Svensson has hinted at more Wii U projects from Capcom on the company's message board.

Capcom announced Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for the 3DS and Wii U last week, and now we can be prepared for more Capcom titles coming to the Wii U.

IGN noticed a post on the Capcom message board from consumer software vice president Christian Svensson, who said:

"I have to be careful what I say here as it will surely be overanalyzed and misinterpreted to be more than what I'm saying.

"We have other projects in the works beyond MH3 Ultimate. Unfortunately at this time I can not provide any details. I'm sure as someone who is interested in Wii U and a Capcom-Unity.com member, you won't be able to miss news of future projects when they finally do get announced."
Sven - as he is known on the forum - has left it pretty open ended, leaving us to speculate whether Capcom is working on a new IP for the console, or ports of other games. Whatever Sven is referring to, that post has definitely sparked intrigue as to what Capcom is working on for the Wii U.

Looks good, but I'm still on the fence about getting it. If it has the same amount of content that Tri had, I won't drop $350 for it.

Needs to have the same or more content than MHFU had!

Some things that it expands on from Tri.

Four new weapons - Hunting Horn, Bow, Gunlance, and Dual Blades return from MHFU
Instead of being able to fully customize Bowguns, they are now prebuilt like the other weapons and come in either Light or Heavy varieties
Reworked and new armors and armor skills
An entirely new difficulty mode for online quests, and high rank Moga Village quests
Instead of grinding HRP to unlock the next urgent quest, you can rank up as soon as you complete the prerequisite key quests
    Over 200 quests
Start with different beginning default armor set & access to 1 of every 12 weapon types

5 more small monsters (Gagua,Bullfango,Furogi, Anteka & Zuwaroposu)
11 more boss monsters (includes an exclusive new final boss)
22 subspecies + color variation boss monsters (18 of which are based on old boss monsters from MH Tri)
Subspecies/Color Variation monsters have some new attacks & some are smaller/larger/more aggressive/ slower/different elemental & ailment weaknesses/ different weak spots/different element and/or status ailment/ stronger roars than the original boss monsters they are based on

Kayanba, a 2nd AI companion is introduced.
You can bring Cha-Cha & Kayanba with you on single player campaign quests.
Cha-Cha and Kaynab get some new masks
High rank monsters now appear in D. Island Free Hunt mode during the night
Target Camera Mode (optional experimental camera mode, Capcom is going to refine this feature in MH 4)
Touch screen can be used for customized access to menu screens, inventory, & HUD elements.
Adds realistic shadows to boss monsters (MH Tri only featured round shadows), but they'll still use round shadows but only while flying
MH Tri's Loc Lac online city is replaced with Tanjia Port

Mountain Stream map (features 9 areas) is added to the game, some other maps are added including Tower 3, Arena, and exclusive new boss-specific map, Disastrous Sea
    D. Island Free Hunt mode map adds extra monsters (such as Barroth, Black Diablos, Bracchidios, G. Baggi, & Dosfurogi)
Moga Farm system now lets you cultivate other items like thunderbugs
Connect with up to three friends in four player local play via the Nintendo 3DS or online via the Wii U. Wii U players can also link up with Nintendo 3DS players over a local connection (MH 3 Ultimate Exclusive Feature)
Share your save data between your Wii U home console and the Nintendo 3DS (MH 3 Ultimate Exclusive Feature)
