Got in a couple of hours playing with my brother yesterday. Great fun so far, but I was surprised at how there's not much of a foot hold to start with on multiplayer. Going in with starting gear and a handfuls of potions with no shakalaka and the only thing we could kill was lagombi lol. Rushed through some offline quests and got ChaCha and full Jaggi so I can actually start in.

Fighting the urge to go back to lance but it's really damn hard. Royal Ludroth is such a different fight when you can't spend the entire time hiding next to his neck. Maybe dual blades are just TOO different. I was dreading coming back to moga after so much time on Tri, but it doesn't feel as tired as I'd expected. Still wish we'd gotten the town from P3rd but I'll live. Loving the new port town though. Still hate ChaCha, and I wonder how the cat partners held up in 3rd.

I'm not sure if it was ever called into question, but on the WiiU version following the steps on the charm table landed me on T10, just like I was shooting for, so I assume the method works no matter which version you use.

I'm stuck on 3ds version until they add the transfer version. Although this works for me kinda because I won't be on much today or tomorrow because of classes. Really hoping its on the eshop Friday though so I can co op with you guys.

I'll be back at it at around 6 EST tonight until I crash. Really digging hunting horn so far. I may delve into gunning later on but it's such a whore to kill things in an adequate timeframe solo until you get the higher rank bowguns with decent clips and ammo. Or maybe I just suck at it...I'll blame the guns.

Gonna add whoever else put their IDs on the list before I get going too heavy though. Not sure if I'm quite ready for online play yet. Much like Graelinn I wanna get a decent armor set and adquate weapon before I gimp up some rooms (probably bunny-dude armor for the evasion bonus, whatever the fuck his name is in the US version, gonna have to research weapons and see what I can make...), but we'll see! Love that this game is somehow more fun than I remembered and I've been hyped to all hell for it since they announced we were getting it, lol. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee.

A whore to kill things eh? I think you may be playing the wrong game... I will say, online is a blast though, no doubt about it. With BGers, friends, basically anyone that isn't a stranger it can be hilarious. Some people stress too much to play online, they feel judged, pressured to be at the absolute top of their game. That isn't a lot of fun. Oh you were the first to cart? Who cares!? So don't stress too much about jumping online.

I will say that the online search and friendslist is worlds improved from Tri. I abhorred finding friends in tri, it was just slow and gross and painful. Now though, they clearly have their netcode cleaned up. Once I know that I am not going to get yanked away by my daughter or lovely lady, I will be online much more.

Also... vacation starts tomorrow =P

So curious to hear some more feedback from the vets from Tri or earlier. Anything you have been amazed by? Anything you can't stand?

For me, on Wii U, I am loving the shine... the crisp icons and menus. The new textures on the bosses too, so good. Lagiacrus is one of my favorite bosses. Not so much to fight, but I really loved the design in Tri. Seeing a nice shiny newly textured one is great.

The armor detail looked pretty nice on MHP3rdHD but everything else was just pixellated, blown up PSP graphics. This is nice. Sure, I can barely see my icon on the map, SO TINY, but I'll take it.

The controls are a little floaty feeling, but I am not at all noticing any input lag. It must be super minimal if it is there. I am wondering if a high latency HDTV would make it much more obvious. I can't get myself to stop using the Gamepad. Played for a good stretch last night / yesterday and it never became tiresome. I will say that the battery is a joke. I am lucky to be able to play with it plugged in and can't imagine not doing so. Finally, I will say that I don't know that I will ever stop pressing + in an attempt to sort my inventory. I will never ever get used to it being X now -.-

Considering I'm still kinda new to MH series (played Tri a little bit), I feel like it's a bit difficult to start off as a gunner. Or rather, it sucks up a lot of your zenny. I felt like I was being carried while playing online =/ But, I almost finished my Jaggi armor set (with attack+ in the slots) and have Jaggid Shotels, so I probably can hold my own, damage wise, online.

Was sick yesterday, finally have my copy (I always ship to the office) Can't wait for work to be over so I can play. Going to have to create my own account on the Wii U so I don't have a fugly beardface before I can most my login info. Hoping to get enough playtime in so I don't totally suck at PAXeast :/
