I want to Gun, and Bow, and Lance and... no wonder this game always gets its hooks in.

I think the absolute key to good gunning is always having the best Gun you can in regards to having the most shots for that boss's particular ele weakness. And that, added to the cost of ammo, is indeed a bit spendy. Bow is the same. Of course you can also get by with just god ol high damage guns/bows, but to be truly your most effective you need those Elemental bullets!

No no no! You call in sick when the game is AT your house, not when the game is at work.

I will probably just be logging in around then. I will look for the room info if it isn't the same as earlier. Why are they quitting? "OH MY GOD YOU HAVE SUB-PAR GEAR! I AM OUT OF HERE!" or what?

Been meaning to remind all of you that are already online... don't forget to exchange Guild Cards with each other. They have offline use as well. When you are in the Moga Village 'single player' Marina or whatever it is (the single player hub... thing, you get there via the boat that takes you to the Online portion as well) you will see 'ghosts' of the players you have exchanged Guild Cards with and can accept quests that they offer. Basically they just offer to go ON a quest. So then the next time you yourself complete a quest or two, they might have returned from theirs and have items for you.

Just thought that was a cool addition. I had been wondering what the "Hunters for Hire" thing was on the gamepad/2nd DS screen while in Moga Village was.

So, is it accurate that the transfer app isn't up and working yet? I started on the 3DS copy and just bleh.

Also, I've never really gotten into these games too much, so, Grae I'm probably going to harass you for pointers.

God this game is so much fun. Can't wait to actually play online. I ended up crafting full jaggi set in between my classes. So far liking Great Sword the most.

How does online work? Like right now I have rank 3 quests open, are the solo quests and online quests/ranks different?

    Kaiser an found this

@Capcom_Unity: We apologize for the delay in the release of the Monster Hunter 3U data transfer and 3DS relay tool apps. We expect both by Friday, 3/22.

Yeah, got my 3DS copy today, really want to transfer just... because I can. I hope they get it up on eShop tomorrow. I am far from an expert Rokku, but I would be happy to be harassed for any pointers I might have as would most people in here I would think.

Online is an entirely different progression. You will fight harder monsters sooner. The very first rank online, HR1, has Barroth, Peco, Rathian, Gobul, etc. You don't see most of those until ★★★ or ★★★★ offline. The monsters are roughly twice as strong too, and have twice as much HP.

FYI, going to eat dinner in a bit so I will just finish Lagi offline and be on later. I will check in then to see if anyone has a room going!

    Directly from Capcom

Those of you who've already jumped on the Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate wagon may be wondering about the status of the two previously mentioned apps required to transfer save data between your 3DS and Wii U and take your 3DS online. Well, I've got an update for the eager.

While both the Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Data Transfer Program and the Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Packet Relay Tool (which allows you to take the 3DS version online) are not yet live on the Nintendo eShop, Nintendo is working very closely with us to get these live as soon as possible and we anticipate that they will both be available on the Nintendo eShop by Friday, March 22. We sincerely apologize for the delay and appreciate that eager fans are looking forward to the feature set offered by the two apps.

Also keep in mind that to use the Packet Relay Tools, you'll need a Wii LAN Adapter or Wii U Lan Adapter, both of which are separately-sold peripherals. Hit the jump for more details about these two free apps.

    Data Transfer Program
Fans who own both consoles, as well as a copy of the game for each system, can use the Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Data Transfer Program to transfer their progress from one console to the other and vice versa for a seamless experience between hunting on the go and in front of the TV. This application will be available on Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS.

    Packet Relay Tool
The Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Packet Relay Tool for Nintendo 3DS is an application that can be downloaded for free from the Nintendo eShop on Wii U in order to play the title online on your Nintendo 3DS, via a Wii U console connected to the internet.

This application allows players of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on Nintendo 3DS to play the game online by using a Wii U console connected to the Internet via the Wii LAN Adapter or Wii U LAN Adapter (to be sold separately). Using this set-up, one Nintendo 3DS system can connect to the Wii U console, and play Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate online with other players, provided the online game is hosted by another player playing the game on Wii U. Please note that while the Wii U console is providing this function for the Nintendo 3DS system, it is not possible to simultaneously use the Wii U console for playing Wii U software or to connect locally to another Nintendo 3DS system. A copy of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for Wii U is not required. However, you will need the Wii LAN Adapter or Wii U Lan Adapter, which are sold separately.

So for dumb people in english like me the packet tool is not required to play with different 3ds right? (like in the video)

Long story short, you don't need the tool to play locally with another 3DS, but you can use it to play online with a 3DS, provided you don't mind locking the system out of doing pretty much everything else. Which kind of begs the question of why bother, if you have a Wii U anyhow, seems like it'd just make more sense to get the game on the console.

You guys do the bullfango DLC quest yet? It's chaotic as hell and hilarious, lol. Gives you a pretty good gunlance option too.
