On the monster hunter 4 side of things, the second new weapon was revealed.



Charge Axe. Can switch between a large axe, and Sword & Shield.





Looks odd to say the least.

I'd still hit it up loved the switch axe in tri I'm all about Hammers or Switch axes

I like that I know absolutely dick about Switch Axes. I have been playing through MHP3rdHD with Lances and Hammers and trying out GSs (man, so slow, but kinda badass). I love the fact that I could start using switch axes and have to learn everything all over. This series makes me happy.

I am actually kind of excited to play Hunting Horn a bit in 3U. I liked them in the past games, and like that they were beefed up quite a bit in P3rd. That Gigginox Horn, so great looking. I just always thought it would be fun to be a class that was attacking with nice even damage as well as boosting the rest of the group with songs.

That axe makes me want to legitimately give this series a second shot, because holy shit do I have a thing for transforming weapons.

i like sword and shield but it just takes forever to kill things, this charge axe looks like it could speed things up a bit, i think im gonna get along very well with that weapon

They need to re-implement aiming the charge attack though. Taking it out was fucking stupid and made GS harder than it needs to be by doing that.

i did like the hunting horn in unite but i only ever play single player since none of my friends buy handhelds although i will be looking forward to online mode (fingers crossed its not regional pretty sure Nintendo doesn't understand how annoying Europe is with so many different languages)

This game looks so great in HD, true HD with menus scaled properly, not the P3rd HD business. It just looks so damn nice. The 'village' is awesome, and it seems much more fluid and logical than the cities were in Tri.

The chat in tri was alright, this just looks limited to set phrases. 3RD "HD" looks like ass. The "HD" part is just for use on an HD tv.

I don't think it is limited, but it is what people seem to be using in the streams I have seen. Has anyone seen confirmation that you can't actually type? Saw you ask CI, but no one answered did they?

Edit: Judging by the text 'emotes' I would say you have to be able to type with a keyboard. Unlikely that all of the ones I am seeing are just quick, canned chat options.

Agreed for the most part on 3rdHD looking like ass. The menus are just stretched and in no way optimized and that sucks. The armor though, and your character in general, and even the monsters for the most part look pretty damn nice. Seeing detail in armor sets and weapons where you could not before, so nice. Nowhere near this, but still... coming from PSP it is pretty nice to look at on a 30+ inch screen =P
