talk about hard body skill and theories on blast element
North America March 19, Europe March 22
everything has been translated since Wii U launch yet took them 2 months to release the date :/
Edit : scratch that
Capcom today confirmed that Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on the Wii U system and Nintendo 3DS will bring the battle to retail stores in North America on March 19, 2013 and across Europe on March 22, 2013. The full game will also be offered for digital purchase on both systems during this launch timeframe and the Wii U game will fully support the voice chat functionality available on that system. For hunters looking to embark on their journeys sooner, free playable demos on the Wii U system and Nintendo 3DS will be available on February 21.
In Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, players take on the role of a hunter sent to explore a settlement within the Monster Hunter universe, completing quests on their journey to seek and slay monsters while improving their skills and earning equipment upgrades. With many challenging monsters and over 200 quests, the latest addition to the series is set to be the most expansive offering to date. The game can be played alone, online (up to four players) on the Wii U system, or locally using up to four Nintendo 3DS systems or a combination of up to three Nintendo 3DS systems and one Wii U system.
looks like we'll need to set up some hunting partners then
Like I was saying i'm still on the fence for now
Gonna try the demo in Feb then see how it goes
On budget atm
Welp. Time to get a Wii U now that the date is set. Plan to get both Wii U and 3DS version day 1.
Can you actually play online on the 3ds version?
On my link it says
nline (up to four players) on the Wii U system, or locally using up to four Nintendo 3DS systems or a combination of up to three Nintendo 3DS systems and one Wii U system.
YEah um
The 3DS version of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will not feature online support when it comes out next March in Europe and North America.
On the official Capcom Unity forums, a Capcom admin stated there were "no plans for online mode on the 3DS version."
Senior vice president of planning and business development Christian Svensson confirmed this and added, "I'd have loved to have seen online as well for 3DS but it twas not to be. Sorry."
Svensson also noted that the Wii U version of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will be using Nintendo's servers as the third-party KDDI hosted Monster Hunter Tri servers will retire at an unspecified time.
Worryingly, Svensson said that he doesn't think save data will transfer from Tri to its special edition on Wii U and 3DS. "I do not believe save transfers from Wii to Wii U or 3DS will be possible that I'm aware of. You get to experience some portion of the original title again. Remember, it's about the journey, not the destination." Uh huh.
Elsewhere, Svensson noted that "there won't be a hard bundle" of the the Wii U and 3DS versions of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, but he'd like to create a "soft bundle" purchasing option on Capcom's store, though nothing is official yet.
Fuck the 3ds version
And double fuck 3ds version
At the Tokyo Game Show last week Capcom showed for the first time Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on Wii U and revealed how it will work in tandem with the Nintendo 3DS version, already out in Japan but scheduled to launch on these shores alongside the Wii U version in March 2013.
At the show Eurogamer chatted with Monster Hunter chief Ryozo Tsujimoto who explained the games' interesting cross-platform features.
You'll be able to save data across both versions. To do this, you'll have to download a free app from the 3DS eShop, which you'll use to transfer data from the Wii U to the 3DS and vice versa over wi-fi. With this function, you'll be able to continue your Monster Hunter game on the move.
A Wii U console and up to three Nintendo 3DS consoles can communicate for four-player local co-op play over wi-fi. Using this, in combination with the data transfer between consoles, means you'll be able to invite your friends over for what Capcom hopes will be Monster Hunter parties, them bringing their data files on their 3DS to communicate with a Wii U, and all four players playing in the same game.
This feature is to make up for the lack of online play on the 3DS version, Tsujimoto said.
"We wanted people to play together," he told us. "We know there are some people who want to play online. Unfortunately with the 3DS version you can't do that. But we have made this feature so you can play together. You can have your friends bring their save data to your house and have a Monster Hunter party. One person will play on the big screen and three other people will play with their 3DS versions. People can continue their save data from what they had before and go back home and update their data on their Wii U."
Why did Capcom fail to implement online play for the 3DS version?
"To put it frankly, when we were developing the game we were looking into it but there were some places we were unsure about," Tsujimoto said. "We didn't have the correct techniques to get it to work. We decided we probably shouldn't release something that didn't work well. We didn't want to lower the quality of the game." The just announced 3DS exclusive Monster Hunter 4, still without a western release window, does have online play.
And the Wii U version of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate has online play, too. Nintendo's kept online gaming on its HD console shrouded in mystery, but Tsujimoto did offer some detail on how it will work with his game.
Extremely disappointing. Playing MH on the PSP was one of my favorite handheld experiences probably ever. Was considering getting this on the 3ds since I got to get one anyway for Pokemon but now.. fuck that.
MH4 is meant to be online but we won't get it til 2015 at earliest
It's mostly to save money to people thinking you could be online on the 3ds with the wii u that i posted that
Day 1 buy for me. Gonna enjoy cross play with my brother on the 3DS, especially since the arena was such a letdown in tri.
Wondering if the pro controller for the WiiU is worth it though , since the gamepad actually feels rather decent. Might just play and keep the pad connected to its charger to counter the dismal battery.
I am a bit surprised that there is so much shock about the 3DS's lack of online functionality in here. Been known for a while. It makes sense really. No reason to take sales away from the Wii U by updating an older game with Online functionality is surely where a lot of that decision comes from.
If I had a 3DS I would definitely double dip, just to have my character with my on the road. As it is though, the voice chat announcement today as well as the eshop announcement means I will be getting a Wii U in the very near future. Cannot wait. Can't seem to convince my best friend that he needs to get a Wii U for it though, but he has the 3DS so at least he can grab it there and we can duo some quests offline.
I have about 70 hours in MHP3 HD and just hit High Rank. Cannot wait to play this is actual HD.
I have heard all kinds of weigh ins on the Pro Pad. Some are really having issues getting used to the button placement. There is also its price. I think, since I will likely not have money to burn, I will stick with the CC Pro. At least at first.

Monster Hunter Tri servers go down April 30
The Monster Hunteth, and the monster taketh away. On April 30, just over three years after the game's release, the online multiplayer servers for Monster Hunter Tri on Wii will be disabled.
Capcom's hope is that the people still playing the action RPG on Wii will migrate to Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on Wii U and/or 3DS, of course. That comes out March 19, giving you a safe, six-week overlap period to secure your hunting fix.
Skipping the 3ds version simply because of no online support, and I always said I wasn't buying a wii u until a new zelda comes out haha
so i think me Insane and Grae will be a team just need a 4th (i'd be a hunting horner if the team was good tbh)
how does that work?
