I honestly prefer solo play as a GS user unless I'm playing with an amazing team. Kinda hate when shit gets zerged, tbh unless we're farming.

Wii-U got! Wallet crying though. Lol. I played MHFU mostly alone so playing this wasn't really an issue for me. However, with that said, I foresaw my progression taking a huge hit once I hit G-Rank. All I need to do is buy the game now but I'm in no rush because I can't play til this weekend anyway.

I dunno why I thought fighting Alatreon with the Kelbi bow would be easy. Shit is ridiculous. I can't stand solo play. I am terrible at it.

So, I killed Ala twice today. Had to use Switch axe. Got my shit handed too me when I tried sword and shield. I managed to snag an Azure Dragon gem but no sky piercers. -.-

Wetticus that guy that was using that alatreon bow has to have the g rank quest unlocked. I made the bow and the first upgrade requires G rank parts. I am assuming he maybe had the quest given too him at the capcom event that was a few weeks ago.

Could be. I've also heard that people who got review copies of the game may have all the DLC already unlocked, so that's a possibility. No telling, really. I'm just stoked for Savage Jho next week tbh, lol. Been putting off upgrading my Jho GS and my apathy and procrastination pay off once again!

Took him on for the first time, brought max Barrel Bombs/UW Ammo with me and timed out. I think I hit him with the Dragonator twice and missed a third. He gets stubborn and won't go near it; I think I lost too mcuh time trying to use it?

I've found the DPS to be stupendously low in solo play. After poison and slime, I've found that taking the right bow does the job better by leaps and bounds.

The issue I've found with it, assuming you use it in the traditional Kelbi way of spamming uncharged shots to apply slime as quickly and often as possible, is that monsters seem to develop a resistance to the slime like they do any other status effect. If you use it more like any other bow and charge your shots it's a pretty stellar bow even solo, especially considering it has all coatings innately.

also helps when you put your shakas with slime attacks, or false felyne mask, monsters just explode continuously

I switched to Hammer. I was gonna make a lightning Lance because apparently lance is baller underwater but after killing a mob 5 times and it not dropping the thing I needed to upgrade it despite the drop rate being 40%, I decided that I didn't have time for that.

Probably doesn't help you much, but my favorite weapons underwater are hunting horn and basically any ranged weapon. Horn has huge range and movement speed up so it feels much less clunky while swimming.

Edit: This is how A.Lagi should be done, lol. Totally a good excuse to make that bowgun now. Wheee.

What is the controller of choice for the Wii-U version? Also, can you connect the classic controller to usb port of the wii-u or does it have to be connected to a Wii-Mote? I sold all my Wii stuff like 2 years ago so my wallet is a bit rustled at the prospect of buying this shit again but ill manage.

Imo it plays great on the Wii U gamepad. The ability to ping the map with just tapping the screen is extremely convenient. Also when you're not out in the field you can have your Moga info (farm, boats, forcast, etc) on the gamepad screen, as well as info on the status of quests you send people out on in Tanzia. May take a little getting used to since you're used to playing on the DS, but for that matter I'm pretty sure you can even play on the DS and go online through the Wii U somehow if you prefer.

The classic controller has to go through a Wii remote, sadly. I wouldn't suggest rebuying shit unless you just absolutely feel the need to.
