lol I did the Miralis thing tonight. Was expecting some kind of .. moar fire Alatreon. Surprised at what the fight actually was. Something else funny though.. When I ranked up, I didn't hit eight, I hit HR60. Is it retroactive when you rank up from HR7 to account for what you did before lol?

It keeps track of all the HR points you've aquired while doing quests. You were technically higher than HR 8 for a while but its only after you beat miralis that it removes the limit placed on you. If that makes any sense.

i think i only got to 31 when i ranked up which is odd i was so low when i must have done over 200 quests :/ also i believe the new Savage jho quest is out!

The Savage Jho event quest makes farming bloods so easy that I almost feel sorry for the poor bastard. First quest we did we accidently killed him and I STILL got 3 bloods. 10 more and I have enough that I can start selling them.

Funny thing is, I'm probably going to have to start doing the NORMAL Jho quest for a better shot at his common materials...which I am low on. Need a bunch more coats to make his armor.

So I have been dicking around on 3DS with whatever I can accomplish. Farming bits and pieces for Lance and GS upgrades. Currently trying to wrap my head around Charm Sniping, just to see if I can get one I am aiming for (Handicraft 5 - Awaken 7) and then back to normal shit. That just locks me into my one save, meaning if I don't advance the RNG to the range of RNG that I want, I reset without saving. No point in doing much of anything else until I get tired of this... which won't take long.

My god is Alatreon a dick, I somehow managed to pull a win out of my ass by bowing him to death, but farming him is going to suck quite a large amount, any consistent strats for beating him? I just see lots of videos for sleep bombing him, but is there other ways other than "Be lucky and don't get one shotted"?

Yeah he's pretty terrible, lol. Really the only tricks to him are farcasters to reset him when he goes bananas airborne and you don't have a binder ready, sleep/paralyze bombing since he's very weak to those status effects, and proper spacing and knowledge of his move set.

I kind of want to farm him a few times to make elemental+1 decorations so I don't have to have so many bowgun sets saved for each element, but I may wind up just waiting until they release one of the events to kill him online.

Speaking of new weapons, I've been making a stable of hunting horns because yes. So far I've made Dios (slime), the Eternal Music Box (dragon), the Frost General (ice), The Apocalypso (fire), and the Snarfonica (water).

Trying to diversify elements here. Totally ignoring songs, entirely because I'm too dumb to know what the notes can do without looking at the weapon's song list itself in game, I think it's a safe asssumption that the a.lagi one is the only really viable lightning horn. Fire has a metric ton of options and I've already got one of them but I'm sure some of the other fire weapons bring something to the table, again, songs. Hell the s.zin horn may be worth looking into also if the songs bring something new to the table.

Doom went legitimately crazy trying to snipe charms. He is broken. His mind no longer works. He can't Monster Hunter.

For sure A. Lagi is your best bet for Thunder. Fire yeah, you have options but I like that Apocalypso. Sure it has lower raw damage, but goddamn that 600 Fire. The notes are ORG, YEL, PRP too so you get Ele Atk + and Hearing/Wind songs. Gold Rathian isn't horrible, but I don't love the songs there (1196 + 330 Fire). Awakened Archgigas will give you the same raw and 240 Fire, and toss in 25DEF too. The upside to that one is the Hearing and ATK songs, and I suppose cold and heat negating songs if you really want em.

Hmm, what else. The awakened Eclipse (L.Narga) Horn has some nice Poison, 40% Affinity, and Affinity and Earplugs songs. The only thing I feel is kinda missing is a good paralyzing Horn. Bug (yellow) Horn is 380 Para, but a meh 828 raw damage and only a sliver of blue sharpness. It also has pretty shitty songs. Health, Rec Speed, Diving, Thunder Res, Ele Atk+ and Sonic. The only other option sis the B.Giggi horn with more Raw and less Paralyze, +15% Affinity but better songs at least with Defense Up LG, small Heal, Stamina LG, Wind and Antidote.

So yeah, I find myself using the same few horns all the time. Eclipse, Apocalyspo, Dios and Archgigas pretty much.

Nice to know you're still kickin', lol. The only reason I'd make gold rathian is for status attack up and status negation.

I'll look into archgigas. And I forgot to mention I made the b.giggi horn and am working on the normal giggi one.

Side note, I absolutely LOVE the Snarfonica. Harmonica on a stick with good raw and water damage and the large healing song is pretty ridiculously strong. Also has earplugs, so that's a bonus, especially since my go to HH set does not have earplugs on it.
