I recently picked up switch axe in MHP3HD having never touched it before. I actually really like it. So I may main that, and also build a few GS, Lances, and HBGs. Hearing once you get the Bracchy weapons, you won't use shit else anyway, since the Slime/Burst element is so OP.

Here is a video of a Bracchy LS. You will notice different colored bursts happening on most hits.

Slime/Burst Attribute description

This ailment will cover the hunter in slime. Movement isn't hindered, but hunters affected by slime suffer a damaging explosion if struck by a monster, or if the slime isn't rid of quickly by rolling a few times. Even blocked attacks can inflict this status. When affected, all blocking attempts will also fail so it is advised to pay attention to the status icons next to the hunter's name.

When used against monsters, different colored slime effects will signify how many more hits are needed to trigger an explosion. When the slime explodes, a fixed amount of damage is caused, oftentimes staggering the monster. Of note is that this effect is not affected by Status Attack Up, but instead the Bombardier armor skill.

also switch axe is the shit, it feels like a heavier LS imo. most fun part is just going balls deep with aggressive sword-mode play 80% of the time

You asked for it: MH 3DS cases now in XL size too! Now please help us choose the color

Due to the overwhelming number of requests for the 3DS XL version of the already awesome MH 3DS case, we were able to pull many strings and make it happen! And on top of that, you get to participate in the decision (since you were already a big part of it anyway) by voting for one of the colors below.

(the image above is still the prototype; we'll update this with the actual color once we get a hold of it)

You see, we thought it would make more sense to make a case for the original 3DS since that version has been around longer... but your feedback was very clear (and we understand... MH is better on a bigger screen), so we listened. Now, on to the color options:

If you already liked the color of case that fits the original 3DS model, you might want to vote for the "Light Blue" option. It'll be the same exact color, and it looks quite beautiful. The other two options we've added are the "Bronze" - which some of us here refer to as "Gun metal bronze" - and "Light Green", which is cute, unique and somewhat of a reference to Brachydios' slime.

Just keep in mind only ONE of these colors will be made into the actual MH 3DS XL case and the original-size 3DS case is still being sold and up for pre-order already!

The poll goes until 1PM PST of Monday, January 28th and the pre-order page for the XL case will go up soon after that. Both cases ship internationally, although it might take a little longer to get to wherever you are. Also please note that the XL version will cost a couple of bucks more, naturally, since it uses more material to be made. That said, I saw some people saying they'll pay $40 for the XL case... we won't charge that much, but I hope they keep their promises. ;P

And to clarify one last time: this is not a pre-order bonus for the game. It is a separate item, and it's a Capcom Store exclusive!

I wish I could convince my friend that this is different enough from Tri to at least pick up the 3DS version so he could come over and play it with my Wii U version from time to time. I have given him an actual list of items that he has never seen before (taking in to consideration that he never made very far in Tri to begin with) and it still doesn't convince him that they are different games.

I haven't been this hyped for a game in a long time. Ni No Kuni was a different kind of hype, this is not measurable.

Not 100% sure how friend list works with Wii U or MH3U since I don't have either yet, but will update this with ID(s) when I have em. Probably going GS/SA/HH initially.
