Finally picked this up...on 3DS. Was planning on getting both versions when I got a Wii U but I'm just going to wait. Can make progress on this and then transfer the data over to the Wii U ver instead.

Can I play this online if I own it on my 3DS and I buy a Wii U? Or do I need the Wii U version to play online?

If I understand your question correctly, Shiyo, you mean online on 3DS without owning the game on Wii U and just owning the Wii U itself? Yes, after jumping through some hoops.

You will need:
Wii or Wii U LAN Adapter
Packet Relay Tool Program (on Wii U)

Some limitations to keep in mind:
Only one 3DS at a time can be connected via the Packet Relay Tool
The Wii U must be running the tool, so you cannot play the Wii U version at the same time
Wired only, obviously, hence the need for the LAN Adapter
and the big one
You CANNOT create rooms, only join already created rooms.

I have both version Shiyo, and I would much rather use the save data transfer tool and play on both as I see fit. I can understand though, as you are just about to get a Wii and seem to be limited to just one game right up front, that you may want to grab something like Zombi U instead as you already 'have' MH3U for 3DS. All I can say is that I love having both, it looks amazing on Wii U.

Bump for the MH crazies (I have a red and green one in the mail... so count me as one).

Sale on some MH3U 3DS and 3DS XL covers. The brown one is still sold out, but the new red and green are all on sale this week. Not bad since you won't find em for less than $30 on Amazon/Ebay. Think that is because they were previously only sold at the Capcom Monster Hunter University events.

- I like Great Sword and I'm making Jaggi armor, is there a Charm table which is ideal for gswd users?

Doubt anyone from BG still plays, could be wrong though. I know I burned myself out pretty quickly.

- As far as gathering goes, I'd let your farm do most of the work if you can. Honey, herbs, mushrooms, and most other things can be grown in bulk.

- Any of the generally-accepted-as-good charm tables should work just fine for great sword. One thing to keep in mind concerning tables is it rarely matters except in the most min-max type of circumstances. Nearly every table, except maybe the 'cursed' ones, have some really, really good charms in them.

- Besides plowing through the story and unlocking all the farm upgrades, not really much to know about it. Be mindful that a lot of the things you can grow you could also just grow a more profitable item to sell and buy stuff from NPCs.

thanks, that should help, I've been hesitant (there's no good way to say this) to use my dung because I wasn't sure what to plant

I found a resources points guide but it talked about HR5+ stuff and I'm not there yet, apparently there's a DLC quest that gives 5000 resource points reward but they didn't say which

was kinda hoping to find something for lower levels

I still play almost every day solo, but online slowed down around the time that Wetticus and a few others dropped off. I wouldn't worry too much about hoarding those items for either the Fishmongress or Argosy Captain.

As for Dung, I mainly used it for Nulberry farming, or the occasional Honey (before the update that allowed the Trader at Port Tanzia to sell it). The DLC pack that has the 5000 resource points, just jump on and grab it. Just download everything. No reason not too. Get all of the Quests (Challenge and Event) and the DLC. It is free, and you have no reason not to get it all now. The 5k RP really helps. Getting more later isn't too hard either since you can usually just do a few free hunt large monsters in the Moga Woods to get more if you need to, and save trading items for points. That said, one of the best items to trade for points are the Lava Nuggets you can get from Uragaan pretty damn easily.

And finally, these are some must have tools, sites, and one app. They are by far the most useful things out there.
