    You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

    Actually it's a link to a bunch of solutions. They may not be "official", but since there is no "official" solution, i don't see why that'd be a problem. And if they didn't work then you did something wrong.

    btw i have to ask, since you seem to be working under all kinds of false information
    because windows blocks ps3 controllers from working even after installing the official drivers.
    Did you notice my edit earlier in response to this? This is bullshit, btw. Both the part where windows blocks it, and the part where "official drivers" exist.

    This leaves me with no way to adjust the camera and movement simultaneously, is there anyway to get the Right Analog stick on an Xbox360 controller to work?
    I'm not having any trouble mapping them.

    edit: nvm, i can only get 2/3 of menu/movement/camera controls to work with x360 controller...

    If you just map the movement and camera those should work, but then you'd need to use a button+left analog stick to use menus, which is dumb.

    wayyy ass back in the day when ps3 first came out I wanted to switch to it 'cause my ps2 controller was wonky. I read that there was some sort of issue with windows not wanting to let ps controllers to work. If I'm wrong, eh no biggie, you are the first to say otherwise.

    the official was in regards to ps2 controllers working but ps3 not.

    also, workarounds can be solutions....

    It's a lie. The ps3 controller isn't meant to be used on pcs, which makes some things a bit more complicated, but otherwise the only reason it doesn't work out of the box is because microsoft's third party drivers aren't compatible with it.

    Sure, maybe a temporary solution until a real one can be found. In this case though, drivers are the real solution. There is no other way to make hardware work in a computer.

    It's a temporary solution until something more official and direct is released.

    My fault in all this though, I said I was done with you. This argument is so stupid and doesn't change the fact using the ps3 controller can be a pain in the ass, which was the point in my stating it in the first place.

    Not sure why you have such a hard on for OFFICIAL solutions. Just because it doesn't have Sony's seal of approval doesn't make i a work around. There is nothing being worked around.

    OP: got the x360 to map correctly.
    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\PlayOnlineUS\SquareEnix\FinalFantasyXI]
    "padsin000"="2,-1,-1,5,6,1,7,0,3,-1,4,-1,-1,33,33,32,32,36,36,35,35,41,41,40,40,-1,-1"
    "padmode000"="1,1,1,1"
    Merge that to the registry, and it should work (you'll want to remap some of the buttons).
