I got my new computer parts in today. I'm excited to see how well BDO runs with a GTX 970, new hyper 212 evo heat sink (to replace stock shitty intel one) and 16gb of corsair vengeance ram.

So do most people just play 1 class heavily? I've been thinking about making 2, partly because having an alt is useful but also just to have another class to play but I don't know if trying to do all that is BDO will be insane with multiple characters.
EDIT:
Recent interview with developers, in case peeps are curious:

From what I hear, if you straight grind you can get a character to 50 in around 15 hours of play time, so there's really no reason to level alts. Personally I don't plan on just grinding a character to soft cap right away as I want to explore everything the game has to offer. But I'll probably level at least one other class to 50 since it seems to get easier for alts.
I'm going to level an alt because it seems like there's a lot of Sorceresses and there's other benefits to creating an alt regardless.
alts get their own pool of energy from what I've been reading... station them around the world for reseting knowledge, convos, crafting, and dumping energy into nodes your workers are at.

^That's great news. There are 2 classes I'm really interested in so I can focus on those and have the other 2 just be peons for now.
I wonder if the CC will work when servers go live again... so I can mess around with my designs waiting for my 48hr head start.
The BDO community managers are kinda leaving something to be desired with the drip-feed i'm normally used to from XIV. I really want to know more about what's in the pipeline for updates and if there's going to be any adjustments to the cash shop in the future. I don't really care about the current cash shop but if the f2p shrubs complain loud enough I might be able to get some of the costumes/pets for cheaper. I really miss the subscription model.
There was something about rough updates/timeline about what they are working on in one of the dev interviews/addresses/comments. I have a feeling we wont get any cash shop related news until a post saying "the cash shop is now live!"
I have a problem, I keep watching videos. I'm itching to play really badly right now.
This is a pretty decent video that explains a few small PvE things you can do for endgame:
ahhhh what was he saying I dont underwhat any of this
Basically, there's daily quests, guild missions and world bosses you can fight to get BiS pieces. The Yuria weapons can be upgraded to +15 but take a bit of effort not only to get the base weapon, but also the items needed to bring them up to +15. The stuff at the beginning is preparation you can do before you hit the level cap to make it easier later.
@ 8:10 in the video he mentions that you'll need high level professions "Alchemy, gathering, and processing" to upgrade gear and weapons. Can anyone elaborate on that? I thought all upgrading was done via blackstone (weapon) and blackstone (armor)
I'm still reading into it myself, apparently there's sets you can straight up craft. I believe alchemy lets you create some materials needed for the enchanting process but i'm not entirely sure what those items are.
However, there's a 255 page guide that i'm flipping through right now: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...=h.qt3gk3hgpkh
EDIT: Holy shit I can't wait till we get the Valencia update.
Valencia Desert Survival
Introduction
On the 23rd July 2015 the new zone “Valencia” came to Korean servers. With this update, the map and it’s content doubled in size. The Valencia region has a desert area which can be deadly to a player if you don’t know what you are doing. Whilst in the desert you will not be able to use your World Map. Horses and carriages are also slowed in the desert and horse skills are limited. This guide will teach you the basics of surviving the desert.
Tips before entering the desert:
- We recommend you stay away from this zone completely unless you are level 52+
- Craft Purified Water or Octagonal Tea to prevent Heat Stroke and Hypothermia
- Craft at least 100+ Purified Water and take plenty of Octagonal Flowers with you for each hour you intend to spend in the desert
- Buy tents to keep yourself safe from sandstorms
I'm getting pretty excited for this game. I get an old school feeling. Meaningful crafting, grinding, no level cap, actually working towards the best gear, rare drops. I know a lot of people don't like those sorts of things anymore due to time constraints and whatnot, but the way I see it is the longer it takes to get stuff done and accomplish things, the longer it will keep me playing. How many of us have jumped on these new, triple A themepark MMOs that have come out, only to hit max level and get maxed out on gear within the first couple of months just to sit there bored with nothing else to do? I really like how many different in-depth systems the game has and it was pretty overwhelming (and still kind of is) when I first jumped into beta and saw how many different things there were to do (in a good way).
