he tries to skip cutscenes but a couple points of conversation/plot stuff made it in, better to play it safe I guess. it's all from the prologue though as far as I could tell

Never played a Dragon's Age before and have limited experience with BioWare (Bioshock: Infinite only), but the Polygon review won me over:

It's probably been discussed a bunch here, but any strong opinions on PC vs. PS4? While the PS4 bug referenced in a lot of reviews will likely be fixed in the day 1 patch, I generally prefer PC gaming for the UI flexibility. That said, I am worried my GPU is getting a bit out of date at this point (GTX 580, 1.5GB VRAM). Looks like that's above the minimum specs, but below the GTX 660 recommended spec? CPU is fine and have 6MB of RAM.

EDIT: I guess the 580 is actually almost the same as the 660 if not better; maybe just a victim of large numbers syndrome here:

PS4 and X1 both look and play fantastic. PC will obviously depend on your hardware.

I say it probably comes down to whether you're comfortable playing a 100-hour game on your PC. For the single player I will probably go for the couch experience (X1), but play the MP on both PC and X1.

I'm assuming the best guess on performance would be how well BF4 runs since it's the same engine.

Bioshock Infinate isn't BioWare. But I would highly recommend playing Dragon Age 1. Ignore 2. And play Mass Effect 3. Fuck the haters, until the ending everybody thought Mass Effect 3 was the greatest game ever created. Yes a good ending is the most important part of a story but take away the last 5 mins and that game was golden. Just...kinda a chore to play Mass effect 1 to get into the series.

Huh? No. Even without that ending Mass Effect 2 was a better game on every level. Only thing greatest ME3 had for it is the hype. It was still a great game if you can look past the ending though.

Gameplay was far smoother in 3 than it was in 2. And it's got the Multiplayer, which was fantastic. The only things ME2 has over ME3 are Thane and Legion.

I'll be the guy to say you might want to check out Dragon Age 2 (especially if, like me, you wind up loathing the combat in Origins). I thought, reused environments aside, it was a solid game.
