Soo.. I think next playthrough I'm going to use Solas as my mage for everything so I don't miss what happens with him. My warrior chick ended up drinking from the well and he was PISSED at me when I talked to him. Morrigan was mad but after seeing Flemeth says she's happy I ended up drinking from it lol I ended up stupidly leaving hawke to die in the fade and Stroud hasn't come back from Weischapt or whatever the grey warden place is. Supposedly there's a civil war going on now. Or something. Not sure how I feel about everything. I think an issue games like this or mass effect have is that none of the choices I seem to make *really* matter.
Sadly the same thing happens with

Stroude left to die in the fade and hawke goes off to wieshapt. I didnt get to see what happened when i drank from the well, but i didnt make it a perogitive to talk to him either, he wasnt my favorite character until that ending credits scene. Now i gotta play the entire game with him!

I hate the bugs in the game that prevents you from finishing quests, its annoying the hell out of me.

What platform? I've had one quest I couldn't progress, but zoning and going back fixed it.

I've had several cutscenes freeze on me, forcing me to hit X to skip. Missed out on a lot of story Also had several instances where a character's audio file will play every line of dialogue at once, leading to a jumbled mess. I hope it can be patched in the future.

I've had some lock up but after I press X twice they unfreeze and play normally.

PC, there is a particular trial (near the end of the game) I have to do and cannot get through, as soon as I hit sit it tries to go to cut scene but stays blank for a long ass time, comes out of it with the npcs standing there and nothing happens, it resets when I log off and back in but I cannot get it to work at all.

I missed out also on getting sky watcher to join up due to it freezing up again as I tried talking to him. Logged out and back in and hes gone =/

Shitty. I'm on Xbox One. :/ I guess there's no console thing like Elder Scrolls games have to just force it?

I believe these will come "unstuck" after 2 minutes if you don't want to skip story.

Yeah I can confirm that is possible at least. Was doing the warden story in Western Approach when it froze up after the battle and even skipping didn't work to fix it. Let it sit for a couple of minutes and it finally started going again.

Uh, ok this is another quirky thing about DA:I that again had me at first saying in disbelief, "No way they can't really of overlooked this when they beta tested this game...I must have done something wrong.." but then I go online and see threads of questions in game forums confirming it.

But, perhaps I am not wrong and I did indeed run out of fucking slots for Abilities on my controller?? Anyone have an idea how to map more than 8 Abilities in DA:I to a ps controller mapped for xbox on pc?

I am using Better DS3 on PC and it is set to work with "Default xbox 360". Everything is working fine with the controller but when I leveled and got one new ability past the 8 I already have, the game mapped it over another ability, so I went to Character Record to reassign but there is no way in the "Map to battle menu" to further expand the slots.

I am hoping that I either missed something or maybe I can just tweak the options in Better Ds3 and add more combos to expand the slot options. I will be unlocking many more abilities and right now, I can't see how to just not use some of them.

The game manual for xbox does not show how to map more than 8 abilities either. If it is an issue with the fact that I am using a controller on pc, how do people using xbox map their abilities when they unlock more than eight of them?

Reallllllly hope they get a pc patch up so I could just use kb/mouse like I had planned to.

Note: I know that with the AI you can just set the tactics on "preferred or enable" regardless of slot availability on the controller but I am specifically referring to my main character who I never use in AI mode.

Any info is greatly appreciated and I realize I am lucky to even be running the game long enough to unlock nine abilities while so many people can't even get that far with all the bugs.

just a really odd design choice, unfortunately. multiplayer is even worse because (as far as I can tell) the 2nd set of 4 mappable buttons is just for different potions.

You can only use 8 abilities at a time. They just designed it that way. =\

Am I the only one fine with the 8 skill limit? I haven't played the first 2 games but 8 is perfectly fine for this game. Like my Cole has Flank Attack, Twin Fangs, Hidden Blades, Mark of Death (Offense), Stealth, Poisoned Weapons, Evade (Support), Cloak of Shadows (Super Move) and that's perfect imo. All of them upgraded are really powerful along with the traits.

Has anyone played the multiplayer? It's really fun and reminds me of ME3 multiplayer but better. From the forums it looks like they plan to go through the same free DLC system that ME3 had. The 4 skill limit is nothing since again upgraded moves are really powerful (I love you War Cry/Walking Fortress)

no I had no problems in singleplayer, it only really seems to be an issue if you're trying to splash into every available tree instead of focusing

I like the utility of some side abilities even if I'm not focusing on them.

I imagine you're not the only one and really, that sentiment is exactly why there are so many people that do have a problem with it. It is another symptom of the continued consolization and disregard for the PC platform that runs rampant in the industry. It doesn't seem to matter what genre you're in or what IP you're dealing with, everything has to have the massest of market appeal, no matter what you have to do to the game to make it tick all the boxes. Instead of sitting down and my PC and playing a game that was clearly created with some idea of how to design a game, I have to piss with shitty menus, watered down features, deal with broken controls, and wonder why the AI can use abilities that aren't set on bars but I can't. I understand that money is king and they don't give a fuck about who enjoys their games, but that doesn't make it any less sad to see. What stings the most is that even with all the consolessions made, a few (relatively small, in the grand scheme) tweaks could have been made and the game would've seemed like it wasn't sacrificing enjoyable PC play for the mass market.

Tactics camera changes are a minor thing. Zooming farther out would've solved most of the issues. Real key binding customization. Make the game not forget that my mouse fucking clicks every other menu I enter. Another hotbar. The biggest and most time consuming thing would've been to put in a PC specific UI that isn't this bloated, spacewasting, useless piece of nonsense. I also assume that during that process they would've fixed the goddamn UI lagging and ignoring mouse clicks. Itty bitty little things that would've made people playing on the PC feel loved instead of marginalized.

    Oh well, right?

Didn't really bother me either, but the thing I do miss is the ability to use other skills from the wheel. Slightly less useful in this game because there aren't really any toggle abilities like Origins or DA2 had, but it would still be nice. Another set of buttons for abilities would be nice too but I didn't really have any problems with 8. May not work out that was as a mage though. We'll have to see.

Rogue shouldn't have any issue with the 8 button limit, but it can be a hassle for Warrior tanks and mages.

Yeah go figure. That is why I was so dumbfounded by it. I guess this is the first game that I was really hit with the realization of what consolization is like, though I was pretty blown away when I noticed that Skyrim on pc acted very strange when I plugged a controller in it but it wasn't like this where I had been playing the series and all the expansions/dlc since the series began. That was my first Skyrim so I figured it was supposed to be that way [derp yeah I trust devs too much].

I play only a few games and Dragon age is a series I have followed since the beginning. I played DA:I with mouse/kb until the first save option was open and immediately went to controller because the pc controls were just that bad. So bad that again, I was sitting there going, "there is no fucking way a company could get this through beta testing without noticing this stuff.....right?" I hope they listen, they meaning the industry and figure out some way to port or just make games for pc without making them crappy half-assed ports of console versions.

But yes I love the game, it is my favorite game of all time and because I love the game, this piddly shit with the watered-down tactics when I love to micro manage, the bad zoom, the crappy click-bait-spam-sonar-scan button looting, having to practically be on top of things to highlight them, the object obstructions/pathing in tactical, the unmappable mouse buttons, the no click to run, the "pew pew pew" feeling of using the mouse to fire! yeah aside from that I absolutely cant stop playing this game but this is only because I have a controller for pc. I feel bad for the tons of people who can't even launch the game let alone whine about only 8 mappable abilities like I am.

I will try to see if I can do like I did with Skyrim and use Better DS3 to remap some extra keys. That or like others here are saying, maybe it will be enough to have the Focus Abilities. It replaced my lightning spell with the very first Focus ability so I had to decide to get rid of something and I don't know which one to part with yet.

One thing I haven't tried that I might mess around with later is to see if using the Kinect voice commands can circumvent the 8 skills limit. It'd be convenient if I could just use voice commands for Unbowed and War Cry, which would free up two buttons for skills like Combat Roll and Charging Bull.
