Dragon Age 3: Inquistion

1. Only buy Large Chest with your gold
2. Gold is saved immediately after obtaining it in matches
3. Try to have at least 1 of each Warrior/Rogue/Mage in a match for balance and to open treasure rooms
4. Do not speed run through and ignore all the treasure rooms just to beat the final boss
5. If you see a rabbit spawn kill it immediately for bonus gold, it will run away and vanish.
6. Arcane Warrior is OP
7. The "weakest" Character is Katari at least for perilous where it somewhat matters
8. Salvage all of your Runes, Armor Mods, and Weapons (Except for the Strongest weapon of each type) for mats.
9. All of your weapons and accessories are shared between characters
10. Legionnaire is the most Tanky character, Archer is a pure ranged DPS, and Keeper is the only Mage designed to be a support for the party, you should spec them appropriately.
11. I like birds. I had a parakeet once. It was blue. And then it died.

Regarding Perilous the most important thing is communication, if you can work as a team its easy just like ME3 Gold Difficulty, it is also soloable for certain characters.

Not sure how I feel about this game.

Playing as human rogue with bow, pretty early on. I spent like 10 hours in the Hinterland because I didn't really get that I wasn't supposed to clear the full map right away (okay, my bad). But what I took away from that is how annoying not having any realistic way to restore your health between battles / lack of healing magic is.

I get that it's probably supposed to add to the challenge, which is fine, but my AI characters are dumber than piles of shit. I gave the double dagger rogue evade and the roll dive, gave the tank the roll move, neither of them will ever even attempt to dodge getting smashfucked by a bear. Turning something I can basically solo into something that eats 2 of my potions. Annoying and pointless.

Fast forward to the undead marsh (not sure if I should've gone here, whatever). I can 2-shot the undead archers, cool, easy. Walk around thinking I must be appropriately leveled for the area -> get to rift -> 6 enemies and my tank focuses on 1 of them while the rest of them gangfuck me continuously. Tank does nothing.

This continues every time I hit a pack of enemies. If I can't solo an enemy before it gets to me it turns into a shitty kitefest, which these controls were not designed for. It's pretty much killing my enthusiasm for the game that it seems I can't really do anything but follow the linear path of the story because my team is too fucking dumb to keep their shit together when I stumble into a /slightly/ higher area.

Because let me tell you, after 8 minutes in I started skipping every single cutscene. Holy fuck I couldn't care less what is happening in this game, I just want to kill shit.

I feel your pain, but after a while I just realized it'd be so much simpler to just follow the story path for a while until I had my specialization and some decent gear under my belt. After that, just started ripping and tearing.

Also, while its fun to play my char as a Reaver, I'm actually having more fun playing as Sera since I spec'd her as a melee. Melee Rogue is beyond hilarious to play. With Flank Attack being able to put you back into stealth, you can definitely pull some crazy shenanigans.
I'm over here dropping poison clouds, sleepin' dudes, back attacking and spamming abilities w/ the flask. Its silly as hell but fun too.

The potions have been plenty enough for me in between reaching other camps or supply caches. Although I play a warrior who has access to guard and then later got drain ability with Reaver. I have 45 hours into the game and I can't say that any of it had me reeling from the lack of heals.

Dropping 750+ damage in one attack from maximum targeting range is pretty amusing too though, at level 7.

So I guess I'll just story til I get better players? I have Cass / Solas / Varric.

To my understanding, everyone who has beaten the game immediately will run to you and say 'get the fuck out of the Hinterlands' and progress the story.

I'm stubbornly ignoring that advice so I don't know.

That's what I did. The game opened up a ton and I started having fun just systematically destroying everything that thought it could mess with me.

You guys should all at least progress the story enough so you have your real base... By that point all character recruitment will be open.

Every area will always remain open. I know it's super tempting to fully explore the Hinterlands, but once you do the story there and get your horses GTFO for a while.

I mean I don't even think that quest is necessary for you to have mounts so it probably isn't a big deal. Just lets you get another agent for the Inquisition and a mount shop in your base. But again, this isn't important while you're still using Haven.

I'm forcing myself to do this currently before the story goes onward and it's honestly taking my interest away from the game. There's too much extra open areas that aren't part of the story. I have 3 full Hinterland sized areas left to explore still >_< I might do the next story quest before I go back to them.
