I have volume off AND I skip cutscenes.
Got my horse though. Fuck yeah.

I understand Sath's mindset on here.
ARPG combat is one of my favorite things. Its literally the only reason I'm playing this game. I'm taking my time to enjoy the other aspects of the game but its take-it-or-leave-it as far as I'm concerned. If I muted the game and skipped all cutscenes I'd probably be having almost as much fun as I already am.
Just another one of those different strokes kinda things.
Have you focused your mages into Spirit/Barrier tree? Do it, it's key to staying alive. They can go elemental once you have Barrier skills maxed(and the spell that brings people back to life.)
Maybe don't go two rogue until a little later when your Wars and Mages are better at protecting and keeping guard and barrier up. Having two mages or two War in the beginning make life easier, as both classes have solid defensive play (dual mage in particular as you can keep and rotate party barrier).
If you are letting the cpu control a melee rogue, focus on defensive skills and set all their defensive abilities as priority use. In the beginning 1/3 of the game, it's one of the only ways to keep them alive, unless you are micromanaging them.
For your archer, stealth if you gain agro and they come to you, Explosive shot to knockdown for a few seconds, Sleeping powder, etc...
Tbh I never bother with the resurrection spell. I've never found a situation where it would truly matter. Usually if someone goes down its because of a fucking bear that can be soloed by a tank anyway, or it's a situation where you're probably already fucked.
I haven't give any of my mages anything besides basic Barrier LOL
But I'm playing on whatevers below Nightmare
Resurrection is good for the dragon fights and that's about it. Vivienne is a good choice to bring for them for her "OH SHIT" focus move. It's like Aeris limit break. Full cure/resurrection.
Not sure on higher difficulties but the first few dragons (for me) were hard, kept having to spam wait out res timer, but once I got a rank 3 bow schematic I was able to melt everything down.
Life has been much easier since I got iron bull and gave him a crafted masterwork greatsword.
I think the dual rogue thing was a bad idea.
You can definitely scale back on the tankiness after a while and two rogues becomes god mode
I dont understand why the fuck they didnt think a fucking storage box was necessary with their bullshit default 60 item limit inventory. Hell even with fucking 80 items, i was constantly forced to throw away decent items at the end of the game just to keep all the fucking "omgthisitemissosexypurplefuckyoueventhoughcrafted shitisbetter" from dragons. Honestly how fucking hard would it be to code in a fucking storage chest IN YOUR FUCKING CASTLE. ITS A GOD DAMN CASTLE AND I CANT KEEP SHIT LAYING AROUND IN A CHEST?
It's weird to me because they fucked this up in DA1 and then added a chest in DLC. Not sure why it's not here.
Can't say I ever ran into inventory issues, and I still have white accessories in my inventory.
Shit from about halfway through the game, i was constantly running into inventory issues, and i maxed inventory size at like level 5
I still only have 75 spaces, haha. Once I replaced something I just junked it. No point in hanging on to stuff since old gear isn't reforgeable and there's no cosmetic slots for it to occupy. The only things I really kept several of were mage staves for those elemental barriers. But I haven't bumped into any of those in a while, and the only zone I have left to clear is the Fallow Mire, so I'm probably clear to discard those as well.
I just made a habit of dumping extras each time I was near a merchant...saved me from getting capped all the time.
Well it's an issue because I fill up long before I see a merchant. Maybe I just venture out for longer D:
On normal, at least, you can attack the magical barriers with ANY element, not just its opposite, despite what the game tells you to do. That might help you on the inventory front if you are carrying around 4+ staves for your mage. I'm not sure if its supposed to be like that or just a bug, but w/e. One staff to rule them all bitches.
