I tend to leave them enabled, but I'm pretty sure the AI will only use the skills that are actually mapped to buttons so they'll only use the eight you have mapped anyway.
I leave mine on, but you might consider disabling the AoE ones, as occasionally you'll be fighting a giant and a bronto will wander through and get hit. Which suddenly turns an already interesting fight into a challenging one. Another bronto wanders by, and all of a sudden, you have a problem.
Even without the Focus ability artificer can be broken as fuck. The Opportunity Knocks passive (cooldown reduction on crit) and Looked Like It Hurt (Stamina on crit) coupled with Leaping Shot (which hits twelve fucking times and doubles the damage of your next attack with the extra perk) is just dumb as fuck. I think I was rocking something like a 70% crit rate with 150% or so crit damage.
Just an endless cycle of Leaping Shot > double damage Full Draw > Leaping Shot > double damage Long Shot, repeat.
The upgrade for Leaping Shot 200% + Knockdown is only for the next normal attack, not ability. Also Mark of Death on the Assassin tree is pretty broken too. Use Tier3 Inquisitor Focus ability > Mark of Death > Hidden Blades > Leaping Shot > Mark of Death again and it's like 120k damage. It's also not a possible bug like Fire Flask + Focus ability.
So if any PC players out there had also messed around in BF4, you might used the cinematic tools before. If not, they let you do things like free camera, adjust DoF, add Fog, adjust lighting, etc. They've been available for DA:I for a little while now and I decided to give them a spin along with some Sweetfx. Makes for some damn good visuals.
Spoiler: show
Some jpeg artifacting but hey, originals are 6 MB and bucket no likey
Also for PC players, mods are starting to materialize. For the time being it's just texture swaps, but more is likely on the way.
just got the game. anyone have a lot of crash issues with AMD cards?
I was getting crash issuses with nivida.
have they fixed the nvidia fog issues yet or is it going the way of BF4
is there any way i can get rid of shitty schematics in my crafting list?
So I've gotten my Dagger rogue to 8, its pretty fun so far but I'm pretty sure I hate my followers. I hate using the tactical camera and jump right into fights instead, and I'm finding my tank and other AI's stupid even though I've set them to follow/defend and changed their tactics. Its making me want to play a Warrior instead so I don't have to deal with dumb AI's getting picked on from random targets. Guess I'm more of a solo personality or something.
Should I set them up differently? Or since I don't like tactical camera and like being in the thick of things, switch to warrior and go the reaver route? Or even try bow rogue so at least I'm ranged? Really trying to enjoy this first play through since it will probably be my only one.
edit: I also get a lot of terrain/line of sight and distance issues while attacking on my dagger rogue, so maybe archer or 2h warrior would help alleviate that?
Been playing for a week solid since i've been off work. Game is hella-addicting.
I did 2h reaver warrior myself and it trivializes a lot of battles. Devour/rage just annihilates dragons. I was able to take out the lv23 dragon in like 3-4m with vivi/blackwall/solas.
I feel the game lacks something but I can't quite put my finger on it. Probably should have played on nightmare I guess.
Just ignore the tactical camera except for targeting specific enemies and learning about enemy stats, about the AI you should prioritize support moves only like dodging/barrier/provokes/buffs. Do not change the follow/defend AI since it makes them do more stupid shit, I've heard that setting a ranged character to defend themselves is a good way to keep them at distance but I haven't tested that myself.
Just keep playing dagger rogue if you enjoy it, it picks up more when you upgrade your actions. You should always have 1 warrior/rogue/mage in your group and early on Cassandra should be able to handle everything, if you wanna play archer rogue you can alway play as Cole, Sera, or Varric with archery spec. It is nice having your inquisitor be a turtle tank so you don't have to worry about that but you don't need it.
You definitely should, otherwise the game is so easy it doesn't feel worthwhile. As for what is missing, I'm not totally sure what it is but with the DA:O tactics (especially the shit you could do after mods) there was a lot of cool shit you could do. I dunno if mods could change the game like that but I always hope.
Game is addicting as hell but goddamn do I hate exploring. It's like every mountain/peak has only 1 way to the top and everything else is an illusion because of crappy collision.
At this point I've already defeated the Lv23 dragon at Lv19 so the difficulty is lost on me even if I can bump it up right now.
The exploration all seem really rote to me. It's the same stuff in each area and even the Astrariums were fairly simple. None took me longer than 3m to figure out.
So I finally was able to take Sera to bed, but I still didn't get to romance achievement. Is the achievement bugged and do I need to keep spamming the scene until I get it (I saved right before)? Or does hers not trigger until later
