Alternatively you could just get better at the game. I've rocked face with Void Mage on Nightmare (or whatever they call hardest idfk) and there's really nothing difficult about the game. If you wanna be a solo OP Knight Enchanter and that's fun, then good for you. Did anyone want balance so badly? I can't imagine what motherfucker is like "Man I really like Knight Enchanter but it's just TOO strong! I wish it were weaker so I could really struggle with it more!"
You're misrepresenting my stance on this matter. I personally don't care if they dick around with the Single Player or not, but Charasmatic said he didn't understand why they bothered. It's pretty easy to see why they bothered; whether or not I agree with why they bothered is irrelevant.

And yes, Tempest Rogues are arguably just as stupid as Knight Enchanters.

Trespasser DLC is out (on Xbox at least), but I won't be able to fire it up until after class today. Anyone started it yet?

Skill changes from http://forum.bioware.com/topic/56181...tch-110/page-1 cause apparently the devs can't be bothered to list them themselves.

    Rogue
Unforgiving Chain - Critical Chance 2% instead of 1%
Deathblow - Double Stamina cost fixed?
Spinning Blades - removes any debuffs on target
Evasion - Dodge Chance 10% instead of 5%
Shadow Strike - Regain 70 Stamina if hit enemy wasn't targeting you, costs 20 stamina, hits harder in stealth/if not damaged recently
Throwing Knives - Fixed issue. Now does 25% weapon damage per strike with upgrade.

Hidden Blades - (thrown dagger actually tracks enemies)
Mark of Death - Upgrade adds 4 seconds of longer duration to a total of 12 seconds, but no more manual triggering.
Flask of Lightning - Upgrade adds 300% lightning damage to hit enemies when it ends, still slows time 99%
Spike Trap - Upgrade choice - bleeding or larger AoE (might be bugged, not showing up for some)
Elemental Mines - "And Throw Everything" upgrade adds 125% damage to all mines. Also has a random chance to throw a larger mine.

    Warrior
War Horn - No more Guard damage or Sunder, upgrade gives better effect the longer you wait between uses (Snare, Fear, Stun), might be bugged
Horn of Valor - Base ability and upgrade only give 15% bonuses each (max. 30%)
It'll Cost You - Damage returned is 50% instead of 15%
Livid - formerly Unbowed, Damage Resistance and Damage Bonus for each enemy nearby (max. 5), upgrade adds Guard as well

Ring of Pain - does Spirit damage now
Walking Fortress - Upgrade no longer reduces cooldown, adds Guard when enemies hit you
To the Death - (not as effective in some way, enemy damage outpaces Guard?...)

    Mage
Barrier - stronger effect but decays faster
Rejuvenating Barrier - Mana/Stamina regen for everyone under a Barrier
Static Cage - only paralyzes, does less damage now with upgrade
Mana Surge - activates for anyone who's Barrier pops (freeze and free skill)

Walking Bomb - Explosion damage 500% instead of 600%, should actually be doing the 500% instead of 200%
Spirit Mark - Upgrade damage 100% instead of 75% for total 175%
Spirit Blade - Damage down to 150% weapon, and 100% for Guard/Barrier, upgrade choice - faster charge build up to expend them all or reflecting projectiles (might be bugged, not showing up for som

So for anyone interested in the DLC from what I'm getting from others is its 4-6 hours and playing it will end your playthrough with that character. The DLC also adds toggle able upgrades for every action and new options for new playthroughs that increase replayability like scale all enemies to a minimum of your level, or limited potions etc. The ending is also good with lots of emphasis on choices you made on characters and a teaser of where the game might take place for the next dragon age.

Sounds cool, I might wait and get this again in a GOTY bundle or something on the XB1, I sold my 360 copy a while back while it was still worth something and the game looked awful on last-gen console.

They never did a GOTY bundle for 2 Dunno if they're gonna do it for 3.

If you have EA Access, DA:I is free in the Vault and I think you get a discount on the DLC.

Sucked is a bit of an overreaction honestly. It was the weakest of the 3, but I still had a lot of fun playing it.

Weakest of the three from an environmental standpoint, sure. But I still think it had the best gameplay of the three and a better/more focused story (although DA:I's wasn't bad). Behind Trespasser, it also had the best DLC (Legacy).

People go HERP DERP REUSED ENVIRONMENTS and HERP DERP NO AUTO-ATTACK and dismiss the game. Those people are known as stupid.

I'd disagree on best gameplay. DA2's gameplay wasn't bad, but Origins is still my favorite. I miss cRPGs, don't get a lot of them anymore. Personal genre preference gap.

DA:I easily has the weakest gameplay of them all. Outside of flashy animations, team synergy is basically nonexistent and the abilities themselves almost all lack "weight". It feels more like an MMO than what I've come to expect from the visceral impact of DA combat. Sure, sometimes you electrocute or shield bash a guy into a bloody mist, but that isn't enough to keep me engrossed. Exploring the zones the first time through isn't bad either, but repeat playthroughs? Feels like a chore. Again, like playing an MMO: you run through the questlines and stuff the first time and it's no problem, but the second time through it starts dragging.

Agreed the second playthrough feels like a chore but the latest patch and new DLC help replayability a lot.

I don't disagree that Origins had the best but I find it hard to believe you can praise DA2's combat and knock DA:I, when all DA:I did was take 2's combat and unfuck it.

Fucked it by taking the weight out of everything and slowing it all down, more like. But I guess I'm on the other end of the spectrum because DA:O's combat nearly kept me from finishing the game; it was that painfully slow and boring.

What does taking the weight out mean? Nothing about DA's combat is particularly...heavy so I'm not sure what you mean? Attacks hit hard and have impact. Thanks to the production quality it's far more lively than before. Also slowing it down...I mean DA:I is the opposite of that. It has the fastest combat and generally is pretty actiony, way more so than 2 which just felt like the worst parts of DA:I (before they refined it) and DA:O.

I guess we just disagree then. I don't play Rogues, but Warriors in particular lack a lot of the speed and heft that they had in DA2. They're much slower and less agile in DA:I than they were in DA2, and while the spells in DA2 were less flashy, they felt more fun to use because their area of impact was larger. The toggle skills were also fun, and while I understand why they wanted to remove Spirit magic (healing), replacing the Spirit tree with Barrier and forcing potions down our throats was completely counter-productive. Not being able to change Specializations (or dip into multiple) sucks. The lack of synergy between the skill trees (Warriors particularly) is pretty lame.

I don't really know how you could say DA2's combat was slower than DA:I's when my DA2 Warrior could run around with 200% attack speed bouncing around from one enemy to the next. Different tastes, I guess.

Edit: Has anyone played the DLC yet? I can't figure out how to get at the highlighted cup/chalice behind the gate in the barracks.

It's pretty easy to see when you play 2H Reaver, any rogue (fuck it, Tempest) or Knight Enchanter. Everything about combat is more fluid. DA2 had broken skills that let you do stuff like that, same as DA:I, but they changed how classes were broken.

Warriors are unkillable, rogues are speed demon and mages are tricky (or unkillable).
