XBL has a Dragon Age sale going on for Gold members now. DA:O and DA2 and all DLC on sale on 360, DA:I is on sale for XB1, but none of the DA:I DLC is on sale. Might be better to get the GOTY version honestly.

I think I'm just going to have to skip all the side quest stuff and just do the main story if I want to hope to beat this game. I was doing all the extra stuff and I just went to one zone which I was apparently supposed to do a little earlier than I should have because all of the enemies were too low level to give exp. I tried to get through the area anyway but just lost complete interest. That was maybe 2 months ago and I haven't touched it since.
I just have a hard time skipping the extra stuff in these types of games, especially when there are so many seemingly entirely optional zones in this game. I really dislike how open world they made the individual games. I love the dungeons. I could do the dungeons all day, yet sadly the devs decided to replace most of the dungeons with wide open spaces, pretty trees, a couple of goats, and some caves which at first seem like they could be interesting but then come to a complete dead-end after taking a dozen steps inside.
Also, on a personal note, I'm not really caring too much for any of my companions except for Bull.
Sarah is the best companion ever, especially if your a female and romance her
I hated Sera, she was fun and quirky but holy shit is she stupid as fuck only seeing black and white. Like unless you play as a sociopath she's probably going to be pissed at you 90% of the time. She's even worse if you're an elf.
Iron Bull still the best, Dorian close behind, Varric is solid and Vivienne can be fun in some situations (like paired with Iron Bull holy shit).
So I just got the GOTY edition on Black Friday. Barely finished the Trespasser DLC. Wow, that shit is pretty crucial to the story... It started slow as fuck, but then picked up like gangbusters. Even the slow parts were still entertaining tho.
And yea, this game is wayyyy too long. I bought it for PC since I was pretty much paying for everything all over again, also that way I can mod it. I rushed thru just to be able to do DLC stuff, and I pretty much left like half the zones closed.
I wish the whole game had been more like the part before Skyhold and the Tresspasser DLC honestly. The main missions are interesting and fun enough but so many zones just exist for the sake of existing. Based on some of the pre-release interviews though, it sounds like they really had to scale back a lot of what they wanted to do with the Inquisition itself.
Then again, that's one of the big reasons I really enjoyed DA2. Much more focused/developed narrative with side-quests that hooked back into the main story. I played through that game like five times as different classes/genders because I liked the story/combat and it never felt like a chore. I liked DA3 (especially Trespasser) but without a save editor for Xbox One (does anyone know of one?) or a full-blown New Game+ there's no way I could grind through it again, with or without the Golden Nug (which was a nice addition even if it was a bit late).
So from the sounds of it, Trespasser is absolutely worth $15. How about the other two? I passed them up since they didn't seem to be worth it. $45 for 3 pieces of DLC seems steep.
Trespasser is worth it almost solely for the Trials, especially the Even Ground and Walk Softly ones. Can never outlevel the content and makes damn near every encounter hard as fuck. It's some super masochistic bs but I've been playing thru the game again that way recently.
The one that makes healing potions heal only 1 HP seems pretty fucking bullshit, but the others look nice. Will probably grab it. Descent/Jaws not worth it then or is paying a cumulative $30 for them actually a rewarding experience? That $30 can be spent on many things right now.
I probably wouldn't bother with them.
Just found some... illegitimate means of obtaining all 3 so I'll just buy Trespasser and play the other 2 as a "demo".
The Jaws of Hakkon was alright and also provides a potentially endless supply of Tier 4 metal (if you scum the remnants of the Rifts) and provides a few potentially useful unique schematics, so I'd pay money for that, but unless you're really, really into Dwarven lore, I honestly wouldn't pay for The Descent.
Trespasser is a must if you want to finish the story or continue any romances. I loved it, but then again I'm a Solas fangirl so I needed my ending for Lavellan. Even if it made me a sad, horrible mess... (Just remember to keep a save at a nice point before finishing, because once you finish that's it. Although I'm sure most people have a bunch of different saves.)
Hakkon and Descent were.. content, and not much. Passable until they drop in price really.
Yea, I already had xbox 1 version of the game + hakkon. So I bought the PC version for $35. I wouldn't get the other two, but Trespasser is most definitely worth it. Other two are just for loot, mainly.
Hakkon was a good Inquisition history lesson, loot, and some cool scenery. The descent was some annoying dwarves, loot, and some deep roads nostalgia.
Only thing is I would say is that Even Ground is nice for giving value to the other DLCs, since it prevents you from out leveling the content.
So if I didn't play any of the DLCs, I should just do Trespasser and thats it?
Generally, yeah.
By the end of exploring every zone, I was so over zone exploring lol
Trespasser also gives new upgrades on skills. New Horn of Valor is so OP now....
