To be simulataneous possession, they have to possess it at the same time. It cannot happen where one player possesses the ball and another player subsequently also possesses it. They have to both begin possession simultaneously.

Tate does put his arms in later, but while they're going to the ground. That is fighting for the ball, and the refs typically let it play out to the ground.

Still don't see it being called an INT with regular refs.
