Every year several playoff spots and seedings are affected by 1 game. Packers/Seahawks are 2 teams that will likely be in the thick of the playoff race / seeding. Thus, this game will probably affect the entire playoff picture.

The NFCN and the NFCW sends at least two teams to the playoffs, it's possible that it has no impact i.e. if the Packers and SEA both miss the playoffs by more than 1 game record difference but there are many outcomes in which this could affect making the playoffs from division winner or even affect multiple wildcards runners or determining seed position, home field advantage. It's very possible this game comes back up later on in the year, this isn't baseball with 162 games we play 16 a win in September is as important as a win in December.

I see nothing wrong with the 49ers and Packers missing the playoffs because of last nights game.
