state's fine as Archibald pointed out our apparatus for governing is just a fucking miserable failure

2/3rds majority budget requirement combined with ubiquitous gerrymandering and the direct democracy fiscal propositions of an uniformed electorate have made for a terrible combination

Oh noes, i'm called a conservative conservative cause after voting to approve multiple county and state tax increases in the name of saving education over the last 10 or so elections, and constantly seeing them still strip money from education I've had enough. Call me crazy for not wanting to throw away even more money to a bunch of idiots who can't even balance a check book. Guess I better throw away my democrat card and start calling for an end to abortion, immigration reform, gun control, saving of medicare/medicaid, and getting rid of all safety nets for the poor. Boo fucking hoo cause I don't meet your standard of being a liberal and actually having a different opinion of yours. Got to love how politics brings out the retard in this board and everyone thinks they know what is right for the country. Well if your so smart and have all the answers, do something to fix it instead of jacking off while reading fuck or duck threads and posting on random image.

Prop 35 passing was some bullshit.
There are going to be some serious misuses of this prop.
The majority of cases involving trafficking charges are handled at a Federal Level.
The criminals committing these types of crimes don't give a shit about state laws.
The chances of this law being used for anything other than permanently invading the privacy of citizens is pretty high. Its a shame that the money talked on this one. I think if people had read any real information about the details of this bill and who was pushing for it they would be a little more inclined to vote no.
Plus there are some shitty loopholes in this law that basically that adult children (18+) can now be charged as Human Traffickers if they knowingly live with a parent that is a sex worker. Saying Sex Offender = Human Trafficker and vice versa. The best part is if you follow the money it all came from law enforcement/ DA's trying to drum up more charges for them to push on already marginalized individuals & their families.

It isn't that we have different opinions, though I do delight in your saying that. It's as entertaining as whenever someone debates the validity of homosexual leanings by calling them "a choice"; you know, the stereotypical Fox News viewer's excuse.

As if that didn't drive it home, this isn't a matter of opinion at all. This is a case of my being right, and your being wrong. I have proof, and you don't. I rely on facts, and you don't.

Go ahead and continue getting red in the face all you like. You'll always be wrong.

    OI, GUYS

California does NOT need a 2/3rds majority to pass a budget. That was CHANGED in the 2010 election props.
The only thing left that needs 2/3rds now are tax increases.

Looks like California is leading yet again in driving businesses out of the state. I can't believe there are so many retards in this state who are allowed to vote.

Yay for prop 30 passing. I can't wait for two years later when they ask for another tax increase for education. Surprised the death penalty was upheld being we've executed 14 people in the 40ish years since we re-instated the death penalty, so yay for more wasted taxpayer funds on appeals and crap. 32 thankfully got shot down. Was nothing more then a union busting bill. 39 passing was also retarded. At least Pete Stark FINALLY got voted out.

So your facts are you and your family at one point were on welfare and didn't abuse it? Well good for you, your family used it for it's intended purpose. I've personally dealt with as pointed out earlier that you ignored several people who did abuse it and use it for things they shouldn't have. Hell do I really need to go looking for the multiple newspaper articles all dealing with the california EBT card useage in strip clubs? I mean I know your so hellbent on being right that you can't fathom that there are people out there who do abuse welfare and make all the people who do need it and use it properly look like leeches.

I personally wonder if you're still clinging to your "5% to 10% of welfare recipients abuse it" fantasy.

They don't need to now. Results are showing democrats have a super-majority in the California house and senate.
Since there is also a democratic governor, the state can now actually pass legislation, taxes included.

It sucks if you're a republican, but too goddamn bad, that lot burned itself by pulling the CA budget crisis shit by abusing the 2/3rds rule to shut down everything. And if they break the super-majority later, all they can do is stop the passing of taxes, the budget is simple majority now, and they are never going to flip the majority to undo anything. (Hell, republican registration is so low here, as time passes, they may actually become a minority party, you may actually see a 3rd party replace them at some point.)

And to everyone boo hooing about driving jobs out of state (remember, measure B is a COUNTY law, porn will not abandon the state, just LA, also, there is a chance that the law could be taken to court), I've said before, at least 10% of the US population is in CA.
Where there is a market, where there are consumers, there will be businesses willing to go after them. Any business that pulls out of CA is also pulling out of a very large pool of consumers.

Well, if we end up having to add a star for Puerto Rico, why not just skip past 51 and toss in a few more eh?
