Like Taint mentioned, only the most hardcore of fishers are going to bypass lack of lures, and there are only so many to be had. Whether one guy has 5, or 5 guys have 1 it doesn't really matter. Sure, it brings NPC gil into the economy, but to say it does anything near what blinkers did is silly. Will it get removed? Probably, someday. It's not the same thing or even near the same level though, and that's why blinkers were first and that's why Haks are still around.
There seems to be a JP post about fishing, but I'm having a hard time making it out. Something about fishing skill and making it easier to fight fish.
F5 F5 F5 @ Incoming Embrava info
Get your Neo-Nyzul isle while the event is still somewhat winnable!
I hope they actually do make fishing skill speed up fish fights. That would be somewhat logical.
Google translate isnt doing very well, but did that say embrava is going from 5 min base to 90 seconds?
Embrava has been destroyed, discuss:
http://www.bluegartr.com/threads/112...=1#post5446814
For easy reference:
*Perfect Defense
**Duration: The duration will be reduced from 90 seconds to 30 seconds +1 second for each 20 summoning magic skill. For example, at 600 summoning magic skill, the duration would be 60 seconds (30 + 30 seconds).
**Effect: No change
*Tabula Rasa
The effects of the white magic "Embrava" will be adjusted as follows:
**Duration: Reduced from 5 minutes to 90 seconds.
**Haste Effect: Reduced to 15% + 1% for each 20 enhancing skill. Maximum of +25% at 500 enhancing skill.
**Regain Effect: Changed to Refresh effect (the #/tick is the same as before, based on skill).
Since utilizing the above abilities has become mainstream in order to progress through certain battle content, we have planned to lower the difficulty of that content in accordance with this update.
*Nyzul Isle
**The required number of astraria to replace with the next higher floor equipment will be reduced from 25 to 5. The number in possession will be divided by 5 and rounded down. The premise that floor 100 will only be reached through a combination of great skill and luck does not change. Since the reliance on the effect of Embrava will be reduced, we will relieve this by reducing the number of required astraria for floors below.
*Legion
**Monster HP will be reduced by approximately 10%. All monsters will be included in this change. Since the progress as a whole will be faster but the support effects will be suppressed, we will maintain the 30 minute time limit, or keep it close.
*Einherjar
**Odin's HP (Odin's Chamber II) will be reduced by approximately 10~15%. Since the battle with Odin is more than with just the monster itself, Legion is slightly different, so we will reduce Odin's HP by slightly more.
So the duration of PD from a skilled and geared summoner will probably be around 56 seconds. Summoner mules with shit skill? Pretty much useless.
That's probably still enough for ADL as long as you get the right clone.
The Embrava nerf makes it strategically useless.
Seriously, fuck you Matsui. You went from being the genious who brought Abyssea to being Tanaka's bitch.
90 seconds of Embrava...I guess 225 seconds. Thats still fucking pathetic, and useless.
How the fuck is anyone going to reach floor 100 with whats being offered now when it was fucked as is? Destroying Embrava means cutting odin and legion mob HP by 10%? Are you fucking serious?
Just got around to leveling SCH and gearing it for NNI... didn't expect the nerf to come quite so soon. Meh.
Their "great skill and luck" thing about NNI is really irritating.
Jesus. They are completely killing it.
I don't even have the words, haha.
I guess Scholar might still be useful in Legion just for Stuns, but it's going to be a pain in the ass to do the Corse Tier 1 mob without PD (Let alone the Hydra). It'll still be winnable, but much more of a pain in the ass.
Nyzul Isle is going to be essentially unwinnable. Getting to 80 will be as hard post-patch as getting to 100 was pre-patch, and you have to do it 5x as often. Perpetuance/Accession Regen V is still worth something, but not as much as Embrava was.
And I guess it's safe to assume this will be included with the oct 26 update?
I'll have taken nerfed potency on Regen/Haste/nowRefresh for keeping the 12.5min duration, than doing down to not-even-5min after perp. Shit it utterly useless now.
If you mean test server then yeah. It won't be on the real server until they put it through the test cycle (if you click through the link to the full post, there's some more info about it being introduced on the test server this week, with some more possible adjustments before it's finally implemented).
reopened (wtf)
something something fishing

This x100 embrava got from super usefull, to superuseless. I understand the PD and embrava nerf but seriously
changing the HP of monsters in Legion and odin isnt gonna help much, when its their TP moves that blow you apart like shit.
and no changes to ADL is just lol, with a max duration of 60 sec (on 600 smn skill!!! omg who has that on his mule!) ADL became more luck based then ever before.
the embrava nerf also hit the stun rotation method for legion... the event itself will become impossible to manage unless you give the sch pt a brd just for marches to cap on haste for stun
Legion and odinv2 changes meaningless and wont help much
nyzul isle changes look solid and are nice: 5 floor 80 wins looks reasonable.
I'm pretty sure hitting Floor 80 without Embrava is going to be harder than hitting floor 100 with it.
I'm still fucking stunned at these proposed changes, really fucking stunned.
and here we have SE having no fucking clue how their game works once again, max PD tier:
Base skill 417
Merits 16
Soulscourge 7
Grip 3
AF3+2 9
AF3 neck 9
Earring 3
Anhur +12
AF2+2 +15
Evoker Ring +10
Fervor +4
Astute +5
Cimmerian Sash +5
Ngen Seraweels +10
Rubeus +10
537 skill
You cant get anywhere near 600 skill. You can get a max of +5 more from Kirin's pole with Byakko strap. I'm not sure of any other sources of summoning skill.
Added everything to the translated posts now, including some useless gardening information (were people really gardening those Azouph/Sharug Greens to sell to NPCs? sounds like they were on the JP side because there were more complaints about that than anything else yesterday lol).
I'm not really stunned with the PD change, that one makes sense. 90 seconds was a bit too long considering it left you almost completely invincible and immune to status effects for 45 seconds with zero reliance on summoning skill (i.e. any gimptastic mule leveled in a day in Abyssea could be a full-powered Alexander user). Considering its strength and utility, it makes a lot more sense to have it be heavily reliant on summoning skill and shorter in duration. It will still probably be the most important thing SMN has going for it.
But yeah, the Embrava changes are just... ???
That being said, I understand why they did more than just reduce the duration. While 90 seconds would make it last only 225 seconds (under 4 minutes) with Perpetuance, you could still lock your Tabula Rasa and recast several times, as people have already been doing, so reducing the duration alone would have been relatively meaningless.
The way it read to me was just a hypothetical example. I think they were just trying to show that it doesn't cap, so you can increase it as high as you can increase your summoning skill.
