The unique nuke like for GEO will be Fira, Blizzara, Thundara, etc. They also said these spells will have bigger and maybe unique bonuses linked to the nuke trait.

Now RDM needs some kind of love because it's uniqueness is rapidly dropping to nil.
Do we know if the Geo buffs will hit alliances as well?
Posted a bunch of Fujito responses to replies to his post on the findings/posts thread. Nothing special, but a fun read, perhaps. Idk about that one guy obsessed with tail, though...
T2 helices, make haste accessionable, make adloquium not suck, give us stun spell natively and ill be a happy sch! might be asking for too much...
I would really, really, really like a new job adjustment manifesto like they released pre Abyssea and Pre WOTG. Now that the restrictions have been lifted on the # of job abilities a job can have, there's no excuse for more JAs. Seriously 85-99 only a couple jobs got new abilities most got almost nothing save for a trait tier upgrade.
I just want to see an alliance of Geos place a ton of buffs and debuffs in an area and see how crazy it looks.
It'll probably cause an amazing amount of lag.
i always thought that limit applied only to char/pet models..
the luopans don't look like they have hard models but are just perpetuated animation effects... like Elemental Gyves. unlike say the tubes, which are themselves actual 3d models.
it'd probably be laggy, and you probably won't see everything happen... i expect GEO to get -ra tier nukes too
Yeah, I'd say RDM's plunge began as early as SMNs getting Phalanxga via Diabolos, but some were happy riding the Haste/Refresh train back when to not really notice. Either way, I'd rather not get into a "What RDM needs!" debate since I'd like to include the m-word and I already know where that'll go.
Making Temper castable on party members would go a long way towards giving RDM a reason to exist. There's no good reason for it not to be, given that it caps around the same DA rate that Fighter's Roll and Ifrit's Favor both do.
I'd appreciate something a little more innovative, as all that'll really do is create a Temper cycle and situations of RDM just buffing in Emp+2, getting kicked from the party, and sitting there while everyone else does whatever infinitely more useful for 5-6 minutes. Basically, making the job fun to play is just as important to me as making it useful.
It seems likely that RDM isn't your job then. In parties, the role has always been:
* Maintain your buff order (some of which are unique buffs)
* Pretend you're a gimpy WHM
If solo is your thing, at the moment you can solo more targets than ever before. It's just that there's no use for it and melees can solo most of the same things about as easily.
I never really understand when RDMs complain about maintaining a buff order and casting Cure as if their role has ever really been greater than that. It's not that they're asking for some return to glory; they're just asking for a job that isn't RDM. The mog house has had a solution to that problem for years. At 75, playing RDM was a boring, painful, annoying task that many people (including myself) did because they were loved for tolerating it and being good at it.
* Can the annoying-level of the job be reduced (by dramatically increasing buff durations and allowing all enhancing magic to stack with Accession)? Yes!
** Will that make RDM more useful? No, not really. It will just make it less annoying to play.
* Will making something like Temper castable on other party members make RDM more useful? Yes, it will.
I'd like them to settle both problems at once, but in the short term I'd settle for just giving RDM a use again as a lowman healer with Temper.
And ultimately that's where I'll clash. I think RDM needed help then just as much as now, people just made due with it then because it worked.
If you want it to be a BLU with black magic instead of monster spells you may as well just play BLU. Any melee-oriented boost would need to be substantial to make it even remotely viable on anything outside Abyssea (and there's a deficit of appropriate gear to supplement any melee buff it would hypothetically receive), and it will never happen, because it would make RDM the be-all end-all of soloing content again, which the devs seem hellbent on preventing (see: Paladin).
RDM has always been a buffing/enfeebling job. Before, those buffs and enfeebles served a purpose/landed. Now, they do not.
