    Also, there was a post from Matsui asking how people liked double EXP saying he "heard a rumor" that some interesting announcements were coming from the dev team to be posted by Mocchi soon. He could have been referring to the AF screenshots which were posted by Mocchi about an hour after Matsui's post, but I don't see why he'd make a post to get people excited about that since it was nothing to be excited about (and those weren't dev team announcements anyway, just something Mocchi threw together). Maybe something tomorrow.

    Got some answer on the german forums about adoulin news today saying that there will be soon released new info about it. I doubt its the AF thing. Something bigger it seems.

    The double xp thing was awesome for finishing a Dynamis trial, I'd love it if they made that a permanent thing. Made leveling lowbie jobs fun too, just teamed up with one other person and flew through the levels with xp ring on.

    It might not be AF1. The screenshots might be of AF3, or AF2+2.

    AF1 may have a different style than was shown, and be level 50-60.

    Why not? Does it really hurt anyone doubling exp gains outside of Abyssea?

    It could be, but it's highly doubtful. I say this because they wouldn't meander from what they've doing for years when they introduce new jobs-- showing the new jobs in full artifact gear. Changing it up now would just be too random.

    I agree that ultimately it will be something completely different, but it says "AF1" right on the screenshots, so that isn't really in question. It probably isn't really any armor at all. I honestly am not sure what they were trying to illustrate with those screenshots as the text of the post didn't really add anything. The only thing I can think of is that they were confirming the job abbreviations on the JP side as they specified that for rune fencer the "sword" kanji was going to be the official job abbreviation on equipment help text.

    Anyway, there's already level 52/54/56/58/60 JSE sets for GEO and RUN in the dats with blank descriptions, so either that's the AF1 or SE is trolling us.

    It doesn't, and I'd enjoy it very much if it was made to be a permanent addition, or at least a kupower.

    It could replace the doubled-ConquestPoints kupower easily since you essentially get double-CP anyways if you have doubled XP....


    Makes outside Abyssea shit done quicker, while still leaving Abyssea the king of XP for those that still want to make use of it.

    The issue I have with it, I guess, is that it takes focus away from shit that needs to be fixed. The Dev team seem to suffer from ADHD. The less shit they have to focus on, the more likely they will fix something. It's like the lotto.

    How is this unusual, or lottery-like? If a developer doesn't have a high priority task on their plate, they're free to look at older, existing issues, and then they can fix them. That's how it works.

    It's not something they have to focus on lol, it's a simple thing to do... make the whole "Double Exp Campaign" permanent and it's over. How the hell does that take focus away when it's already been done?
    Doubling exp and skill up rates isn't going to take away any focus from the important stuff.

    we just got a new dev chief that actually seems to shift his focus on urgent problems like: Enmity, ATtack/defend ratio, elemental magic fixing and 1handers vs. 2handers balance. While still adding new stuff and doing an expansion. Besides the double exp was nice for returning players and for dynamis augmenting, it was a welcome change.

    Because I'm sure that doubling exp was such a massive time-sink on the development end. I mean, somebody probably had to add a "*2" somewhere!

    Just because you don't like something doesn't mean it's a waste of time for the developers or anyone else. "High priority problems" clearly means "things that are important specifically to me", right?

    I'm way too lazy to go back through patch notes to count how many bugs they've fixed days after a version update introduced them, but until you have actual insight into how many developers they have working on fixes, and how they decide what to work on first, you should probably be quiet. Just because what they're working on isn't directly SMN-related doesn't mean it's not a high-priority task.

    Man, stop complaining. It's nothing to them to change the EXP value to a higher number for three days. There is nothing unusual about what they did-- this is something other MMOs have been doing [continuously] for years now; takes next to very minimal time to implement.

    Their focus is on point and they know what they are aiming for, be patient.

    3 quick JP posts today:

    1) GEO and RUN are the "likely" English abbreviations
    2) Some more information will be revealed in media interviews at the end of this month (which we won't have access to in NA, lulz)
    3) They may plan a live broadcast of Matsui controlling a character and/or showing new areas in Adoulin.
