You can't really compare the jug pets to avatars as they do not change or gain new abilities as they go up in level and they have less level range to deal with in general.

We have an expansion due out in 25 days, and haven't had a content update for two months now. They're likely saving up a laundry list of tweaks/additions to go with the expansion's release.

Alot of things have been delayed, I don't see why this whole thing with Cait Sith is any bigger of a deal then anything else honestly.

Avatars require a quest idea, cutscenes and dialogue, most likely the addition of other rewards, animations, abilities, etc. etc.

A jug pet requires nowhere near that. Not to mention that not having Caitsith isn't SMN's issue to begin with.

Useless or not, avatars have a nasty habit of meeting substantial delays, and the issue typically doesn't get addressed by PR. People who care about the job have reason for their irritation

Yeah they should stop everything and put the whole team on adding an avatar that will solve nothing.

They can put an unpaid intern on adding a jug pet and he'll be done in an afternoon. It takes significantly more work to add an avatar.

SMN still going to be ramuh and shiva only for usage.

As far as I've seen, right now SMN uses:
* Ramuh for general multi-player event applications. Two long-Stun moves make him awesome. Thunderstorm isn't shabby either, though it's damage is the same for every celestial avatar.
* Garuda for when you want a high damage physical BP and don't care about Stun.
* Ifrit for support applications (DA Favor, perma Warcry, and perma big-enfire)
* Shiva/Levi/Titan - They each have one or two useful BPs that you might call them out for, but primarily these are useful for their elemental resistances.
* Diabolos/Fenrir/Carby - Dream Shroud prevents against Cackle, and otherwise there aren't many uses for these guys.

If I was going to make one avatar perp staff, it would be a Fire one. If I was going to make a second, probably Thunder. I wouldn't make a third.

Not really. SMN is the only class needlessly clamoring about a new spell (that also comes with abilities and such) when it will do absolutely nothing to address the problems that exist within the job.

So this is how RDM THF PLD BST NIN DRG SMN DRK(until SE accidentally buffed it when they tried to upgrade war's gsword powers) oh let's just say every job outside of war or sam now feels.

^ this is very true, but as a smn I understand the frustration of s/e dangling new avatars and just not ever doing anything about them for a few years (Re: odin/alexander), while cait sith will not do jack shit for smn then being a new pony toy, it's still something that is new and exciting for smn, think of it like this: what if bst was told it was getting new pets one day but then s/e kept delaying it for years on end and not doing jack shit?

Until I get my slime pet, I consider SE toying with BST. We want it, they know we want it, they just won't do it.

Most of the new BST pets were garbage though.

Apkallu, Turtle and Jagil are neat looking... before you go right back to using Yuly/Falcorr because they get the job done and have good evasion which cuts down on biscuit costs.

If anything, go petition Matsui to make Odin/Alexander actual avatars with their recycled BCNM moves instead of pinning hope on Cait Sith which will most likely be niche at best.

SMN > BST at any endgame event even with the sorry state of SMN.
