If anything, go petition Matsui to make Odin/Alexander actual avatars with their recycled BCNM moves instead of pinning hope on Cait Sith which will most likely be niche at best.

SMN > BST at any endgame event even with the sorry state of SMN.
But that's the point, even though most of the new bst pets are garbage, it was at least something new and interesting that was added to bst, that's what smns want with cait sith, just something new and exciting, doesn't have to be useful at all or an all powerful avatar, just something we can simply play for a few days then go back to using our other avatars and even though smn is used over bst for endgame, it's only for a few functions which at best makes it a step above bst for endgame and at least bst makes up for it by being able to virtually soloing any oldschool HNM/content.

Just because BST isn't invited to parties doesn't mean it's worse off than SMN. You can solo a hell of a lot more on BST than you could even dream of on SMN. At least you can do shit.

Given that it's a non-essential update that doesn't add much, it shouldn't really be a surprise, though. There were several jobs that got essentially nothing from the period of category II merits to the level 80 cap. Not to mention something that needs its own story, battlefield, and whatever else. Complain about the new SPs, at least that's relevant.

Given that they're adjusting the game in several fundamental manners, I imagine you can expect changes. The placing of the expansion created a rather inconvenient lull, though.

    I feel you sista.

As a SMN, its quite disappointing we haven't been getting the fixes we need. It really isn't so bad that we don't get them if they don't say anything. But when they mention it several times in forums and tease us with a video of it in 'action' and don't deliver for years, you can't help but think they're just trolling us.
but of course, considering Odin and Alexander.. this is just par for the course.

I'm more looking forward to the proposed JA which allow you to expend more MP for BPs to lower the recast timer. Something like that would go a long way in making SMN a faster job.

I'm hoping that they'll put in a whole range of adjustments across all jobs come 27th.

I wouldn't get your hopes up for changes on the 27th, but maybe a few months after that. The smart move is to release the new jobs, give them some time to see how the player base uses them, then start tweaking jobs across the board.

Yeah speaking of that. Who do you guys think will be the avatar that gets mentioned in the storyline this time? I'm betting Quetzacoatl.

Actually, thinking about it, isn't one of the OST tracks named Hades? That's a summon. Maybe he takes the place of Odin/Atomos as the major antagonist avatar.

I keep thinking they added Quetzalcoatl already... but I guess I'm imagining things.

Really, I would be happy if they added four mixed elemental avatars. I thought they were going to when Abyssea brought the mixed elementals, but that went nowhere.

Really, at this point I just want a new toy. I've given up on anything fixing the job. Just give me a new toy and I'll stop bitching for a while.

    Lv2 skillchain avatars? lol
one of the problems with adding avatars is that 1 avatar added is the equivalent of 5-6 new abilities due to their blood pacts, unless they're 1 trick ponies like Odin/Alex.. so i suppose its different from giving other jobs a new JA. Then again, BLU got 42 new spells between 76-99 not including 8 from unbridled learning. SMN got 12 BPs.

quality > quantity, perhaps.. but it says a lot if Lv70 (or 75 merit) BPs are still the best option for SMN to deal damage, when every other job has progressed to a new tier of better skills.

anyway, I wouldn't mind if they gave us Hybrid elementals if we can have more control over them than normal elementals.

Yojimbo would be pretty cool for a summon. Something different.

Falcorr and Gooey (IE: the two most useful jugs in the game) were added in the same update as apkallu/turtle.

Turtle isn't great (especially for the cost), but he has the best defense down in the game I think. Jagil is situationally useful just because he resists water we don't have any other uncapped aquan pets besides silas. His damage output isn't bad either.

Apkallu is the worst uncapped jug I've ever used thou.

Turtle also has a -25% def move that has a duration that lasts forever. Like at least 90 minutes....

Fargann probably does resist water (hard to say or test given most pets seem to have rather high resist in general bah I need ballista points lol) but isn't aquan which could matter. As far as moves go only good on fish has is intimidate which is 25% slow for 9 min. Not bad really.

Fargan has a 3 min -50% att though and the limited testing I did with tp drainkiss showed it seemed to drain all tp regardless of tp it had when using. Probably subject to resist though... and it probably has dmg type resistance bah I really need to get back to testing bst pets.

All of the complaints players have come back to the fact they need to hire like 5 more god damn people to work on the game instead of the tiny crew they have now. EVERYTHING they have done since like 2009 has taken unacceptably long gestation time.

Fargann and gooey both resist water (and gooey in particular is a better pet in general) but they are both also amorphs (intimidated by aquans) which makes the jagil a better choice for things like sedna and his tier 1 nms in aby - misareaux.

Jagil and silas are also the only uncapped aquan pets at 99, and the jagil actually does solid dps. So if you wanted to make use of killer instinct vs amorphs, he would be the go to pet.

Not any different from RDM; our best enfeebles are our level 75 ones and those are only slightly better than our level 6/8/13 ones.
