Posting a first-pass translation on findings. I'll post a cleaner one with filled-in details as a final translation and let you know once it's updated. Won't be much different from this one.
Hurray. I'll delete my contrived post when that's up. /.\
Really glad I got that part wrong.2) The defense down penalty of Counterstance will be reduced.
OK translation's finalized, just needed to add a couple irrelevant details that I initially glossed over to get to the meat of the info. Anyway, the whole post is essentially just reposting all different previously discussed adjustments all in one place. Good to know what's coming, though. Only new info seems like the Twilight Scythe info (we knew a nerf was coming - they previously talked about it, but never specified), and the confirmation on how much enmity will be reduced. 70% reduction for dealing damage seems like an appropriate amount.
Yuck, 10 minute recast on Twilight Scythe? Guessing it's going to be a buff too, so it can get dispelled. :-/
Dunno if it'll even be worth keeping around.
Surprised they're squeezing this many of the planned adjustments to the next patch, though it kinda sucks magic adjustments aren't in there. 30% enmity is probably not going to help much, unfortunately (Don't people cap hate in seconds? 3x isn't going to help there I think? It'll help with small group battles but high buff battles will be more or less the same.) Ratio change is nice.
Hurray for rather large 1hd buff. Hurray for future retesting of emnity and pdif lol. Also NNI one gave me a chuckle. Hey we heard the problem is having enough time so we made your fodder mobs even fodderer
For reference, I know several people have already mentioned that they'll have a download up as soon as possible. I know it's really frustrating that SE can't handle this properly, but the good news is that as long as you can get a code for your appropriate region, you should be alright.
I'll have a small guide posted on the 25th for installing an expansion from a different region than the rest of your install. Unfortunately, this won't work if your install is in a different language (sorry to you few).
The game is going to be sooooo different on launch day and I can't wait!
I am a bit disappointed there were no mentions of the magic changes or the new SPs. I wonder what is happening with them....
After reading those changes for general/non-adoulin content I'm super excited. I really this turns out to be a positive and amazing change for FFXI. I also hope we don't get too bogged down with bugs and maintenances to fix them all.
That Twilight change is so balls. It being presumably dispellable make it a crap-shoot for some mobs. For other mobs like Salvage Cerberus, you're probably better just brute forcing them. By the time you equip it, wait for timer to tick down to use, add in cast-time for using it then you're not really looking at a DPS gain over 60 seconds. Not to mention the cooldown time means you can only use it on either the NQ or HQ.
I mean not that it's a gamebreaking loss or anything. It just reduces the times it practical to use to pretty much zero.
Other updates should be interesting though. Need to find me an EU code for Seekers in the meantime!
To be honest, based on the original post where they discussed nerfing it, I think that's actually what they set out to do. They basically implied that weapons like that should never have been created in the first place. Only reason I think they'll leave Mura alone is because it's extremely rare and because it's only for WSes. Twilight Scythe, on the other hand, can be obtained easily by anyone who finishes up Abyssea.
So can someone give us a quick idea of how the 1h changes will theoretically be?
Yeah. It's just a far more severe nerf than I thought would happen. I thought worst case scenario, it would be changed to the same as Mura since that was mentioned as a possibility in their post. Even that would have made it impractical to use since Scythe DRK WS'es are hardly the same caliber or frequency as GKT SAM.
It's just inconvenient really considering where it was used. It doesn't suddenly make Neo-Salvage unclearable, it just means you're spending an extra 5-15 mins in there. I half expect that there will be a few Seekers mobs where it would have been very useful on which would justify the nerf.
Why are people under the impression that level correction is different/none existent in Adouin areas? From the battle logs during the streams?
So as I'm reading monk just got royally fucked in all aspects... Awesome they just made counter tanking a Fucking suicidal event in anything worth a damn by doubling base damage taken.
