And then you need 250 non-afterglow combined weapons to make an afterglow combined weapon.

Nah, they'd make you trade all 3 weapons in to get a new JSE weapon. For the jobs that don't have a relic, you need to level a seperate 99 job that can wear the corresponding relic just so you can trial it up, which will go double for RUN and GEO since they won't get Empyreans either. That's the solution to yesterday's lore post- one of those weapons is the mythic and the other is the super ultra shiny weapon!

Well that explains why no shield or instrument. But all joking aside how awesome would it be to have a weapon with relic base dmg and stats and ODD plus stat boost from empy plus the random job enhancement from mythic with some crazy combine ODD oa2-3 and relic aftermaths all rolled into one from some super combined ws lol

Oi, pretty big translation error...sorry about that. Perhaps I infused too much logic and hopefulness into my thought process while translating. Still, his post is self-contradictory. He replies to someone clearly concerned about the new weapons being almost as good as RME and goes on to say he will make sure RME stays on top by doing nothing about it. Wat? Has Tanaka returned?

So ya, reading it again... it says they don't plan on enhancing them through trial of the magians or anything else, but he wants to do something to make sure they stay useful and shields/instruments will be excluded from whatever he decides to do since they will already be the most useless.

i.e. they aren't going to do anything, but they will do something...unless they just ninja update the level 99 weapons with no upgrade required... maybe that's what he's talking about.

Hmm. Upgrading R/M/E, without actually changing R/M/E... Long shot, but... Perhaps the new merit categories will have things like "Increased Aftermath effect duration" and the like?

Would be nice if they let you add a second effect onto the aftermath buff, like WSD+% that applies to all ws or duration.. or something new and unheard of!

Larger looming problem of not really having any way to get a 99 RME if you don't already have one unless various upgrade items are available in Adoulin, but I guess I can't say I didn't have time.
