Yeah, that kind of baffled me. I can understand people wanting certain actions to reward more, but I would assume they have something like: Physical Damage = X points, HP Cured = Y points, etc. with all the rounding and such to follow. If you're not estimating some kind of expected DPS/HPS from that with certain reasonable gear/job thresholds, then idk. Maybe it's an indication there's a bug somewhere rather than in the actual plotted rewards, so they need people parsing individual evaluations to perhaps snag a lead.
Personal evaluations are extremely variable due to the multiplier that happens when you damage the roots, so I don't know what the fuck they're expecting to figure out by asking us for our data.
Especially if people who don't understand how the system works say things like "omg i got 600 this time but only 150 before that, must of been because i cured!!!11"
EDIT: Just saw the template. Seems like it could help them after all.
Not when you get data like this.
That said, I solo Lair Reives in Hennetiel and only get ~50/Bayld per evaluations for just tanking all the adds and beating on the nest. If they bump up how much I get for doing that, I'm not going to complain.
Pets on roots, players on mobs seems to be the rule.
The 2nd day of the expansion I was getting crazy skill ups on MNK/DNC (H2H Parry and Guard). Blew my mind.
Now not so much.
I'm 100% sure they'll make reive enemies aggro pets like in campaign in the next patch. I've made over 50k bayld while afk and I don't see them being ok with that. The way the system works, doing reives on anything but BST feels like a waste of effort to me.
Also I hope they change the reive cooldown. I understand the point of not letting you reive for 10min if you flee... but at least make it activate only if you have performed an action while in the reive. Having to take detours because there's a lair on the way is getting pretty annoying.
my avatar BP Rages deal well over 1000+ dmg on the roots, but i usually get nothing from that.
on the other hand, BST auto-attack on root dealing like 20-40 dmg per attack round (while afk) net 20-40/bayld per evaluation.
stuff is pretty borked.
..i'd like them to change the restriction timers as well.
ejection should be like 10s. 5s is too short, and sometimes by the time u notice the message, you've like 2-3 seconds left.. or if you get knockback and stun then GG. >_> especially when some reive areas are tiny (like Broadleaf Palms with 16" radius)
on the other hand, the penalty for leaving reives is too long, especially when sometimes you accidentally enter a lair reive you might not want to do. I'd say 5min is enough to penalize people for whatever reason it is necessary to do it
Performing an action while in the rieve doesn't circumvent their primary issue with that aspect of the system. Being able to deaggro/reaggro something on a whim without a cooldown has entirely too much room for abuse.
Granted, they should reevaluate distance/time/etc, but their concerns are understandable
Make aggroing trigger the cooldown too then. I'm just tired of having to eat up the 10min debuff whenever I sneak/invis past lair reives.
Honestly fuck this rieves shit this is no excuse for their shitty formula to reward mages less. Abyssea is already the fast track to 99. I don't accept any shit argument about how ohnoes, people might bard bot again. Are you joking me? People get level 99 going afk all day long in their field gear in Abyssea. Not to sound like one of "those people" who is a raging anti-Abyssea type, but seriously. There's no excuse.
Yeah, rieves are borked pretty bad actually.
thought the same thing.
bayld is going to go the same way of cruor and allied notes tho.
initially scarce and hard to come by, and eventually used as a long term currency used to reward people who have earned enough of it.
i like this usage tho, because its not that hard to come by, but puts people on a level field at the very beginning but integrates its events together through a single currency - i thought it was a nice touch that they shared Cruor between Abyssea and Voidwatch, altho the amount of cruor gained (and spent) from the latter totally eclipsed the former.
(ToAU on the other hand was a utter mess because every event had its own tokens, which was very annoying)
Assault points... such a god damn mess, I wish we had the option at the NPC to take all the points that we accumulated in a zone and dump them into one pool, reseting the value of that zone to 0 but having just one spot to go to every time, rather hunting down where the points were.
My only issue with reives is wasting a ton of time just running around hoping to find one cause I don't know where it'll pop <_<.
Sounds like SE should take a page from Rift and not only mark active battles on the (conquest) map, but highlighting them would show how many players were present.
you mean on the zones map?
i think they would have considered this but the infrastructure of FFXI's game mechanics / server interactions are apparently too old to handle this. Campaign battle maps already take such a long time to update properly. Expecting anything more from this is.. well.. expecting too much.
Such a system is already in place for XIV tho.. except the number of participants thing.
I was more thinking like Bastion, a message that says something has begun on a front, no need for the map.
