oops i wasnt specific.. i was referring to colonization mainly. lairs seem to work slightly differently.
the initial state might indeed be tied to whether the mob naturally aggros.. guess we need more testing with "fresh" lairs/roots and so on.

on the topic of skilling up, i was able to do it like on day 1, but strangely i no longer get skill ups in reives. anyone else notice this? or have i been very unlucky

Can confirm that Fresh nests do not aggro. Stood right next to the Mantis/Wasp one in Yahse now and no aggro.

    Spoiler: show

(Ignore chat log, was to go with another in case they did aggro!)

I can only assume when people (including myself) have received aggro when running throough that the nest must have been previously hit and someone has died/homepointed/run away.

Need to try find out why sometimes nests/lairs go passive after wipes whilst other times they remain aggressive and aggro people running through or reraising.

EDIT: Also not sure mobs are both Sight and Sound in all Reives. Note how close the Mantis is to me and that it's the wasp that wanders over and hits me first. You'd expect with the Mantis being right next to me that it wouldn't take 12 seconds to turn aggressive and realise I'm there whilst the wasp had time to wander over and smack me first.

Not sure if it's due to how Mantids attack so taking longer to register/swing or if it was the Mantis linking to the wasp rather than aggroing directly.

    Spoiler: show

Of course if Mantids are naturally Sound aggro then ignore that! I'm not 100% certain what they naturally aggro but thought it was sight.

The Matsui post is just a general post saying they'll be adding more quests in the future as well as the JSE for GEO and RUN which will allow them to realize their full power. Also apologizing for the poorly balanced content (reives), saying they're working to fix it quickly. Really no info in his post, very general.

I wonder when we are going to get the artifact armors....most serious GEOs and RUNs are probably above 60 at this point.

I'm sorry, but I dont think there are any "serious" RUN or GEO's right now...other than the fact that they'd be at 99, not 60. But seriously...the jobs been out for 10 days, no ones retired their Ragnarok, Mandau or Annilhilator for their GEO or RUN yet.

Let me rephrase that: Most people who are into the job and really want to both look like the promotional shots and have their sexy abilities enhanced

In any case, AF will be high level, 90-95. Mark my words.

It is possible but they still have relic armor designs on the main page that would seem to indicate there would a relic set ( same design, different colors). Then again since the jobs were designed for 99 levels, you could very well be right.

As someone with no Relics, Emps, NNI, or VW gear, I'm anxiously awaiting any announcement on AF. I'd love to be more effective on RUN and I'll take anything I can get... Come on Conquest Tally! Not trying to complain since its been 10 days or w/e, but I'd love to hear something.

I'd kinda doubt it, since it would create a lot of disparities they likely don't want to deal with. The general patterns for AF/+1, Relic/+1/+2, and Empyrean/+1/+2 are established. Breaking them for the new jobs means people complaining they don't get all the sets, or that they get much better AF than other jobs, or that they don't have BC60 gear, or any number of other things.

Besides, putting in AF one update, Relic in another, and so on lets them milk GEO and RUN for the rest of 2013, maybe beyond.

I don't know why you'd assume this to begin with, but there have been AF placeholders for months that would seem to indicate otherwise.

To be honest, placeholders don't really mean anything, as many placeholders are 124, 99, 255, or some other arbitrary number. However since the placeholders follow the typical sequence of 52, 54, 56, 58, 60, it stands to a large reasoning that those will be the levels regardless.

    The placeholders were removed anyways.

Can anyone give me the DAT path of those sparkly lights that are Soul Pyres? I almost never see them and it's annoying to no end.

My reasoning is this: Making job exclusive pieces of gear of level 54-60 is a waste of time and energy that could be redirected elsewhere. Old jobs have no means to correct that, but now that we breeze through those leves while sitting in a corner of a FC party? Either they design every piece to be a macro for a different JA, in which case we'll blink into it for a second every 5 minutes, or they make the pieces actually useful at 99 and thus have to label their levels accordingly.

It makes sense in an absolutely sense to just make the gear 95-99 and ignore the 50s, but I think SE will keep it consistent from a lore standpoint, in addition to the fact they may consider having level-appropriate gear in case the player wants to level sync or participate in a level capped event like a bcnm 60.

Don't have any reason to believe they'll make the gear anything but 52-60. The gear will be macro pieces, and you'll have Relic+2 and Empyrean+2 to hold you at level 99 as far as 'usefulness' goes.

I mean, it just seems more like SE to stick to the pattern then to throw a curveball of level 90+ AF1 armor. Though I won't completely discount it, it just seems incredibly unlikely.
