That is a very sad response from Matsui.

It would also "require" a bunch of jobs to unlock their mythic just so they can be competitive by having AM3 all the time. That'd be a really stupid fucking idea.
Yeah. I do not think they can recover from this along this route. Did they honestly not expect this push back enough to come up with a real plan?
Adjust the WS modifiers to something that make sense (agi for cata? wut?), increase damage, double AM duration. there, fixed. Surely that can't be that hard for the devs to figure out.
I mean, it'd be a pretty simple thing to just bump up the RME weapons by 100D or whatever and they'd probably get back their subscribers instantly, so obviously they have some kind of idea of what they DON'T want to do. I just wish I knew what exactly they are thinking, because I'm honestly just confused as to what they want. I lol'd when I saw the new items because I just assumed that was their way of saying "RME suck now, dealwithit.jpg", but apparently they do care and do want us to stay- or they're just making excuses so you continue to pay them while they do nothing.
The idea of keeping r/m/e weapons relevant aside, the ability to unlock emp ws would still make a lot of sense, even if only for job balance. The weapons that have meh/situational merit ws (sword, katana, gaxe, etc.) generally have strong emp ws, and in some cases, the emp ws provide some utility that merit WS are missing, like a strong SATA ws for thf|drk.
I don't know about that. You add a lot of base damage purely from weapon, so further base damage from modifiers (like our 100% mod merit WSs) becomes less important while other bonuses (like Attack+%, Critical Hit Rate, etc.) become more useful.
At this point it doesn't look like the new high damage weapons are going to be hard to get at all. Maybe a month or so of work solo? Why not just increase weapon damage and actually give useful WS mods to the ones that have awful mods as a start? Would it really be game breaking at this point? The new weapons should be much, much easier to get than relics anyway within a month or so once the content is figured out
I wonder if at this point they will think of just nerfing the new weapons back to more 'appropriate levels' or make them Delve only. I mean honestly, it seems the only place you need these ridiculous weapons is Delve content itself.
There's a part of me that likes that they want to really up the player's strength, but it's funny that by only increasing D that we're capable of doing like 30% more damage but we're still going to get one-shotted by Sarmursk if you're not being careful.
Well it's safe to assume that the Delve mobs are the framework for things moving forward. With regards to stats, HP, etc. So we are going to need those higher D weapons all the time. So can't make them Delve only. I'm sure they have an outline for events/mobs for the next 3-18 months, so they would have to scrap all that if they adjusted what they just released.
What's the problem with a straight D boost across the board on RME weapons? The new gun is 42 damage over armageddon, why not just bump it 50 D and let that be that? If I recall correctly like 4 years ago they just randoml8y bumped a bunch of dagger D up from what they were before, so there is precedence for it.
I'd prefer some sort of quest or story line boost for it, maybe in Adoulin areas, but I don't know how they would handle weapons already inscribed with a trial. For instance, if you have a 99-1 and have it inscribed with a 99-2 trial (cause you hate yourself), how do you get it to upgrade? Probably the only problem with that idea.
If they were going to bump up the D I assume they'll just adjust the data so you won't have to trade it back in or anything like that. That's what happened with daggers, anyway.
That's why I think they should just straight boost the damage (I also think they should fix the ones that got stuck with shitty mods, but I doubt that's happening). These weapons can be obtained in a day if they drop directly off the mob, a couple of weeks in a group, or roughly a month and some change solo. It's still going to take at least a couple of months to build a relic unless you have the money on hand so they're still going to be harder to obtain the worthless 75 version as opposed to a version that outclasses even the 99.
I just don't get it. The DMG rating of RME scaled fine to 99 compared to NM/AH weapons. Considering the base dmg of a lvl 99 RME, why are these new weapons so much stronger. How can they justify giving all relics like +100DMG when the progression from 75-99 was about 20-50 DMG.
