I'm not 100% sure, but I think the bottom of this page says when the update is.

That's cool. Looks like an event to vote for food you want to be put in the game? And a broadcast of future plans for ffxi plus Naana Mihgo's concert.
Edit: also this

furry fantasy xi

Man, I wish the expansion partner was a guy for once. That'd be neat.
Having problems with FFXI official forums right now so I can't see what today's updates are. Did anyone see them before and/or is anyone having problems accessing the forums right now?
I caught the lvl on equipment post. Bayld body was lvl 100, Tojil head was lvl 119. It was displayed in the bottom right corner.

Forums bogged down due to being on same server as 14 forums and its a new beta phase via what JP twitter said.
Only thing really new from the test server notes were the examples of the equipment help text:
![]()
So basically now we are going to get people wearing stuff just because it has a higher item level regardless of the stats it gives!
The only people that are going to do that are the people who don't know how the game works and probably wouldn't listen if you told them, so at least they have some sense of direction to improve their gear now.
People coming from WoW, that never played FF before gonna freak. XD "Dude, your an ivl 650 DRK, why you get outparsed by this ilvl 300 DRG? You suck!!"
Also, pretty crappy place to put it. They couldn't have been another circled orb with numbers in it, or under the equipment icon? Just having a new line permanently added to equipment just for a fluff static value annoys my OCD.
I still see people in PUGs here and there that think they're hot shit because they spiked dmg on one WS the entire fight, while the rest of them were shit.
"<Delve 2.0> Do you need it? Item Level 140+ ONLY. PLD or BRD please."
Oh boy.
It probably won't happen, but even if they did they just need to make dungeons only check your weapon level. Weapons tend to grow a pretty linear rate; It was 85 empyreans shitting over 99 weapons a few months ago that was the anomaly.
I like how they keep so much necessary information regarding gear statistic values, traits, abilities, etc., completely hidden from players without hours upon hours of testing and yet they feel the need to reveal an obscure and completely useless piece of information such as "item level" on gear itself. Are we so stupid that we can't figure out ourselves which pieces of gear are better than others?
