Now you have a Mythic LS and a non-Mythic LS. Mythic LS clears content quickly/easily and claims it's too easy. Non-mythic LS has a hard time and scrapes through. Mythic LS is having such an easy time because their 6DD setup effectively has 8 non-Mythic DDs worth of damage.
+1 Exactly what you put comes to mind every time someone mentions carrying over AMs. Its not so much that it's a bad idea, but it becomes a requirement for any DD to have, moreso Mythics and Empys than Relics. Kind of a one sided opinion with not having any 99 RMEs, but I'd love for Matsui to post some massive post explaining his thoughts, culminating with a "deal with it" approach saying they won't be adjusted further.

I can feel and understand for the one's who've finished them in say, the past 6 months or so. But those who have had them for years? You had a slot handled that (typically) was BiS or close enough that no one would argue, and something you could auto translate to any pug and they'd take you without question, regardless of its lvl or use. Just wish the player base had the numbers to survive such an announcement. :/

Maybe tiered. Like full AM translation if you have the weapon mainhanded, half if it's offhanded, quarter if it's not equipped at all. Maybe not those exact values but you get the point. Vastly cutting proc rates/ stat values like that would make the difference somewhat less overwhelming but still give the players something to show for the work they put in... now wether that would be worth the time is another story but at least it's hey I did all this and I got more than a T shirt out of it.

Also while they are at it fix empyrean/mythic ranged aftermaths to work on ws/barrage like they do for the melee ws seriously. And while they are at it fix most of the relic aftermaths lol

Empyrean aftermath doesn't effect weapon skill.

Er true but it works on forced multihits but not on barrage (not sure about double shot but I somehow doubt it)

If this new "Skill" is going to be calculated differently than skill on sub 100 items, they really should call it something different. Gear stats are already full of confusion and double meaning. Unless they are just plain doing away with any and all "old +skill" on new items.

They should change the name either way because its stupid as hell to call two different stats the same thing.

If you ask me, they should do away with weapon and magic skill entirely if they're going this direction. It's become where going through capping it out is something that just takes time. Everyone has to do it, and there's no benefit anymore. It's not like there's going to be a situation where you're enamored by the prospect of some guy with capped skill coming instead of someone who isn't capped.

Of course, I'm biased. I just don't like skilling up magic. Neither did anyone that played WoW, and they did away with that nonsense. With weapons at least.

What you got was X amount of use out of the best weapon you could have.

Interesting about the +skill levels. Since Forefront weapons are getting +63 skill and the weapons are item level 106 (as noted in previous discussions), it would be a bit easy to reverse engineer and guess the skill levels for all item levels. What I have found is that from level 100-109 there is a skill increase of +9 per level and from 110-119 the skill increase jumps to +14 per level.

    This means that:

Delve Weapons should be +146 Skill
Mega Boss Weapons should be +230 Skill

What remains to be seen is if alternator gets +Skill added on but I highly doubt it.

If they hadn't put the absurd afterglow trial in, REM fix would be easy, just continue to progress ToM with stuff from Adoulin.

Honestly, for the R/E/M thing, I think the best way to go would be to update R/E/M to be "second best" in each patch. For example, if the update had happened in the Delve update, R/E/M 99s would be between Plasm weapons and Mega Boss weapons.

Then, when the next tier of Delve comes out, R/E/M 99 would be updated to be stronger than Oatixur/Senbaak/Upukirex etc, but below the new delve mega boss weapons.

That way, when the patch hits, you'll have the best weapon out of everyone as a reward for getting R/E/M to 99, but can still use that weapon to get the (temporarily) superior weapon. Then, next patch, your R/E/M becomes stronger than that new weapon, so that there's a new, stronger weapon to go for.

NA groups didn't kill Tojil for quite a while, so if this had been active at the beginning of Adoulin, R/E/M99s would have been the best on the server for a good amount of time.

SE lacks the resources to continuously play catch up with R/M/Es against whatever the new weapons of choice are in a VU. They can barely release what they promise on time and you're expecting constant babysitting for a tier of weapons?

Honestly they should just let you augment whatever the 'current' weapons are using a reusable 'Soulstone' KI that possesses the life of your Relic/Empyrean/Mythic weapon allowing you to transfer the special parts of the weapon over to future weapons. Lower the requirements to obtain Relics/Mythics and significantly boost the rates of Empyrean items beyond the 90 stage lowering the prestige factor as SoA has already properly trampled any dedication these weapons once had.

There is no reason in this MMO a trial like the Alexandrite hurdle should still exist. None.

So here's a question... With the adjustments to weapons coming in August, does that mean the utility behind the weapon will remain unchanged or are they actually getting additional stats and a boost in performance?

Also, I think with could be a way around that hard cap of how many stats they could put on a piece of gear. Instead of having 2 slots taken up with Att, Acc slot taken up with Skill+. They could very well make other combined stats in the future, though I can't think of anything off the top of my head that boosts more than one stat at the same time like combat skill always has.

The reasoning on the skill only affecting that hand is kinda poor. People don't dual because stats apply to both hands they do it because it increases their attack speed. It's like they are trying to push us into single wielding or just offhanding the least crappy +skill weapon. While of course 2hders can take full advantage of it

If you dual wielded say, a level 120 sword and a level 115 sword, you could get 350+ attack and accuracy, almost twice that of two hander weapons. I can see their logic.

Yeah, and now if you dual wield a level 120 and 115 sword, your offhand has about 55 less attack and 49 less accuracy than your main hand.

    PROBLEM SOLVED.

Not if you dual wield different weapon types.

Level 120 sword + level 120 axe, or level 120 sword + level 120 dagger.

How does that affect H2H? I hesitate to assume both fists get the same +Skill benefit from the weapon.

Edit: Off the top of my head, I can't think of many jobs that have comparable skill ratings in two different single-handed weapon types (NIN, RDM and COR?), so the loss of +30-40 skill would still be comparable to just dual-wielding a lower item level weapon in the offhand.

When things like Rubeus Boots came out, I bit on the whole hardcap to stats on gear thing. But looking at new gear like Buremte Hat, I'm left thinking it was all either bullshit, or they figured out how to bypass that limit.
