It's probably just rose-tinted glasses, but, not including that fuckwit Ullikummi, I kinda liked sky. Sure the first hour or two always sucked, but once you had some repop times, it became more interesting with people management and LS competition as you'd split your folks off into separate groups at different spawn locations, then all be running around as stuff spawned and you claimed it to help with the kill before your holder died or to be the first to get enough people there so you could pull safely without wiping. Also, sky in general was a really well-designed area with the way the three zones are interconnected.

fuckign hated sky and sea and kings, now nyzul isle and salvage was very fun accessable and didnt require any type/form of campign shit ¬.¬.

as for WotG: walk of echoes COULD have been a very nice endgame scenario, but alas they decided to turn it into mass-dynamis 2.0 where the whole server can enter.... way to fail on an endgame event.

Sky was pretty much the best time to reward ratio event til abyssea imo. I think the people who dislike it just had a bad personal experience with it. It has shitty moments like any event sure, but a lot of the gear lasted forever and you could do it with either small or large groups. Sea on the other hand would have been great if AV was realistic at 75, but it turned into complete misery for the most part besides exploring new areas.

I don't want to say how long it took me to get Byyako's Haidate and the countless hours wasted in sky. I don't want to even think about it.

Personally I think they should've make walk of echos area kinda like the new sea or sky. A whole new area with stuff you can do. And then had the current confluxes be just random instances endgame battles in there simliar to limbus of sea. I did kinda like the co op nature of entering... but it was definitely too open ended especially at first. So many people going in and leeching off an ls or wiping them over and over again. Like maybe made each flux have 2 instances... one that is reserved and another that was free enter.

Few posts today from Matsui and Fujito, looks like there will be a test server update next week and an update is scheduled for October.
Yay for being able to send items from mog house and lowering the chances of crystals from mog gardens.

Yeah. I just went from L3 to L4 on my Mog Garden. Suddenly, crystals fucking EVERYWHERE. Especially in my fishing nets.

The only plus has been I'll never run out of kinetic units again and stacks of crystals are still nice pocketchange. But I'd rather have more fish, plz.

Mog House Delivery on the other hand will be a nice quality-of-life enhancement. That much less time zoning my mules around...

Its kinda funny that JPs bugged them about not being able to get furrow rank 5. Didn't seem that difficult to get, or grasp why and how to get. Win with the delivery though.

The Bst post seems kinda awkward, cause their pets most certainly don't seem to be that high of lvl now, unless their stats are completely neutered, and thats what the stat fix is correcting.

And I'm indifferent to the crystal bit, like other's have said, chargin meh lazer, but meh, til we start getting much more useful crafting ingredients from MG, I doubt many will care. Though its a great time to be lvling smithing/GSing, 2k Adaman and Orichalcum ores all day erry day is pretty nice.

Edit: Actually a question with the Bst bit. I know last update (or the one before? I forget) they made it so pets scaled with the ilvl of your main hand. However, with this upper level limit they posted, does that mean that the ilvl 119 axe actually doesn't do anything for your pets over the ilvl 115 Hurkan axe? Kinda confused reading over the two dev posts and figuring out what actually attributes to the power of Bst pets.

for old pets released before adoulin, they previously capped at 99, with a number of them listed being able to exceed the level cap via weapon+beast affinity (check update notes), so for those, the maximum level they can attain is 114 through BeastAffinity+Monster Gloves +1.. so yes.. for older pets.. anything iLvl above 114 doesn't make a difference.

new pets capped at the levels they mentioned, so with BA/MG+1, all of them (except Dortwin) can hit Delve levels, and a little more.
however, they cannot actually hit anything higher than 119 if no such axe with that ilevel exists.

so basically, you take the lower of the jugs hard cap and main weapon item level.

Thats about as confusing of an answer as I can imagine.

The dev post says that each mob has a capped lvl (I'm assuming this is "capped" via main hand?), then an augmented lvl after Beast Affinity and Gloves +2. That capped lvl is what's throwing me off, as none of their capped lvls are above 113. I thought the capped lvl was from the MH, due to not using an appropriate MH making them weaker (only lvl 99 I guess?). If thats the case, and the MH actually desides how far into that lvl cap they go, and the merits and Gloves +2 dictate how many additional lvls they get, then I'm not getting what you're saying.

To give an example on my end, Herald Henry. He caps at lvl 113, and after merits and gloves, he can hit 128. So to cap him at lvl 113, what does your MH need to be? 113+? If yes, then as I questioned above, the 119 axe provides no additional benefit (other than being a badass axe, and some pet acc/att) to pets above the next highest ilvl axe, the ilvl 115 Hurkan axe.

Well right now you need to have the ilvl weapon and full BA merits and augmented af2+2 hands to achieve the higher levels... and even then even amongst the old ones that can go higher than 99 not all of them can even get to ilvl 114. And even if you do there is still a very very noticeable difference between say ilvld jugs and alternator auto or ilvl 113 avatar.

I do find it amusing that they note the availability of new pets is stupid then tell us if we don't like gimped lvl old pets to use new <.<. ie use only a couple expensive very lackluster mediocre pets or stick with good but gimp lvld pets

Anyways to further explain the stupid way ilvl jugs work. All old pets are capped at 99. New ones are 103-105 with plasm being 113. Then with BA merits and af2+2 gloves you can get the cap to go up another 15 though some 99s don't go that high. But your jugs will level will still be based on your level as always unless you have an ilvl weapon

I think I get where you are misunderstanding. BA merits just raise the cap like they always have. The ilvl axe basically just substitutes itself for your level when pulling out a jug. Like if you were level 98 with a 99 capped jug it would still only be 98. Or if you had a level 80 capped jug but had full BA merits and gloves and called it at level 99 it would be 95.

So yes if you had no BA merits then the highest Henry could go is 113 and Hurkan axe would be best from a pure pet standpoint. Well at least on old content new content you can really use that acc. But since SE has basically made BA merits mandatory now that will never happen and Henry's cap for most bsts will be higher so you'd want to MH the megaboss axe to get those few extra levels when using new pets. But on old pets yeah they highest they can go even with merits and gloves is 114 so then 119 axe wont help level them more

Gotcha, that makes much more sense now, I wasn't aware that BA was "capped" by your own lvl or ilvl of your main hand. Taking that into consideration, is the dev post indirect confirmation that we'll be seeing ilvls beyond 119? Seems silly to have pets already in existence that have specific caps set beyond our current cap, and make us aware of those caps.

BA isn't really being capped. It raises the mobs cap just like it always has. But as always regardless of the jugs cap you can't bring one out higher than your level or now your ilvl. Basically the same as it always has been with ilvl being substituted in for level. That said it's a stupid lazy mans way of handling this especially with the current dearth of higher level jugs and literally 0 that naturally cap anywhere near what our ilvl weapons.

Not sure it directly confirms higher ilvls but looks like they will at least add some that naturally cap higher than 99. But I have serious doubts about them doing it enough every being able to demerit without completely gimping my pets. But seems like it more leaves room for higher ilvls...

That said it's only silly if we never get higher ilvl weapons. As is as soon as they introduce higher ilvl weapons all of a sudden everything but the plasm crab will be under leveled. While the players and all other pets will automatically go up.... granted this is how jugs have always worked but they also before made jugs that capped waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay above our level and and since they kept adding some that kept a decent stock of ones at or above our level. Now they make all jugs decently under our ilvl with some even more under than others (of the "endgame" ones)
