If you people are incapable of stunning then it's probably for the best that you don't associate with them anymore!
More seriously though, put people actually capable of stunning on SCH and make the gimpy SCH's level another useful but less critical job. Something like COR. Fairly hard to fuck up roll + drop unless you're a complete tard.
how are you dealing with the lag in the hall of mul. We did a 36 man legion hall of mul. I turned effects down (mostly all, ecxept the ones of the sch pt and me). Still sometimes you got lagspikes that cause your stun to miss spells/abilitys (rarely but it happens at least once per run) the mobs does. Especially got a huge lagspike when the harpy 2. wave went chainspelling (even tough effects were turned off). I thought the 18 man lag was a bitch but managable, but dear lord 36 man legion is on a total other level sometimes considering lagspikes.
I'd love to be a fly on the wall at an FFXI triage meeting. I imagine those guys getting drunk and throwing darts at a board containing stuff they should work on.
Reminds me more of the oldschool issue where having like 120+ people in a zone starts to caused stuttering, which was typical in places like DA come Fafhog time. And since SE doesn't truly instance, you're probably not the only 36 people in a given area or at least the same server cluster processing whatever.
Keep in mind that visual changes won't assist with network latency. Lowering of effects or background resolution will only help if your 'lag' is hardware lag (i.e. low fps) - it's completely unrelated to network latency (R/S, data received/sent) that some zones seem to suffer with and is probably a server cluster/data pipe issue.
If your FPS is sitting at >29, turning off effects isn't going to fix network latency.
Their comments on the new RDM SP are more proof that they legitimately think their shit smells like roses until we throw it back in their face:

Even if you could land Paralyze II/Blind II/Slow II/Poison II/Dia III/Addle(think those are all of the debuffs that Legion mobs aren't immune to), nothing would really change. Those debuffs barely do anything and their duration is like 90 seconds or so. Those debuffs affect regular mobs a great deal, but for NMs which have AoE TP moves with a high rate of Regain and normal auto-attacks count as TP moves as well, these debuffs are greatly diminished in effect. Also stun is Dark Magic not enfeebling, so I don't know what they're talking about. The debuffs that actually matter are the ones most NMs are immune to, you know, the enfeebles that actually are worthwhile and would buy you time i.e Gravity, Bind, Sleep, Break.
The fact that they gave RDM Gravity II without addressing the effect of 'Weight' on high level NMs is obnoxious. It had potential to be a useful spell at 75 but as our final, ultimate enfeeble? Get serious. If only the Evasion Down was a separate effect from the Weight so we could at least cast it on NMs to help everyone's accuracy.
For some reason, Stun is included in enfeebling-type spells with certain things. For example, you can Immunobreak Stun. Based on their comment, I'm guessing it would be included in this also.
Also, as far as immunity goes, there really aren't any worthwhile NMs that are immune to debuffs anymore. Like their post said, just highly resistant. With very few exceptions, everything in Voidwatch and Legion is susceptible to all debuffs (even including stuff like sleep, silence, gravity) with high enough accuracy/after Immunobreaks.
I think the worst part is that SE seems to genuinely think this new RDM 2h is useful. Or that enfeebles are useful. At all.
There definitely needs to be a vast increase in the number of enfeebling spells available to make RDM anywhere near worth bringing along.
- Some sort of Addle effect for TP move windup.
- Something resembling Inhibit TP, that makes monsters gain only 1 TP per hit taken (but gain normal TP on their hits that land), to stop NMs using backtobacktobacktoback TP moves when theres more than 3 people on them.
- Plague. Seriously.
- Magic Attack/Defense Down versions of Dia and Bio, mutually exclusive like them, that shave off 15 MAB and 15 MDB or something with their tier III versions.
- Death might make the new SP worth using, or Doom at the very least. Summoners and Blue Mages get these. A fun toy, if nothing else.
- Impact. Natively. Get rid of the dumb MP cost for the non-robe version too.
- Something that reduces Magic Evasion, thereby making subsequent enfeebles easier to land. Or even six spells that work like Ultima's "Nuclear Waste", its functionally the same. Anti-barspells, if you will.
- Dia/Bio IV, or make Dia/Bio III scrolls and change the merits to "Dia/Bio effect +1%" (do this for all merit spells and then make the relevant Augmented Relic +2 do it too)
- For fucks sake give us Flash back you fucks what did we do to you
- Give us Stun while you're at it
Other RDM shit:
- Make Phalanx II's formula not suck.
- Make Enspell IIs not suck in general.
- Give us the "old new" SP back and make it double duration and prevent Dispel.
- Light elemental nuke Ultima, damage based on the total of all your magic skills (go skill healing and divine you lazy fucks!)(okay this is just wishful, but its been both white and black magic and it worked like that in FF2! and we deserve a cool ultimate spell too.)
Idk I think the worst part is they think that putting an ability that blm gets at 15 on a 1hr timer and then restricting it so it only works on a few spells (not to mention it almost sounds like it doesn't floor partial resists like ES does) is somehow good. What is next a Sneak attack on 1hr timer for dnc that doesn't give 100% accuracy and can only be used on melee attacks?
Seriously though it's rdm and I think everyone is still living back in 2005 or so when rdms were actually semi ok at something and are afraid of that again
Reading their comments about the new RDM SP just makes me want to bang my head against the wall. It's beyond shitty, I don't need to test it to know that. The only way it might be not terrible is if the gave it a 30 or 60 second duration so you could actually fully enfeeble the mob and if they readjust old/add new enfeebles so they actually do something worthwhile on current content.
Remember about 2 yrs ago, we were throwing around the idea that SE doesnt care about FFXI to try to get us to play FFXIV, but then that idea slowly faded away since XIV was such a fucking godawful piece of shit that they actually need to create a storyline reason to tell people "hey this game was really really fucking bad and you should all feel bad for us"? Well i think theyre back to trying to get people to ditch XI for XIV.
