The problem is that they say "slightly suppressed", so I have my doubts about their ability to properly balance this.

They said slightly, so I'm gonna go not enough. lol
Only thing I imagine it being useful for are dual wielders. Aside from that it does seem like a non-solution.
Re: RMEs DMG suppression, there's a crapload of those weapons that would still be garbage even if they had HIGHER DMG ratings than the current weapons, if they preserve the same lv99 effects. Who knows what they'll do. Wonder what will happen with stuff like Tupsimati.
If they release weapons comparable to the ones they listed earlier, they would be superior to all other options unless SE fails to add skill to them.
Looking at these:
Bura : DMG:130 Delay:240 STR+13 Accuracy+10 Attack +10 Sword skill +242 Parrying skill +242 "Double Attack"+3%
Exca : DMG: 121 Delay: 233 Attack+40 Sword skill +242 Parrying skill +242 "Knights of Round" Additional effect: Damage varies with HP
Burt : DMG: 131 Delay: 264 Sword skill +242 Parrying skill +242 Enmity+18 Physical damage taken -18% Reduces Enmity decrease when taking damage. "Atonement" Aftermath: Increases Acc./Atk./Occ. Attacks twice or thrice
Alma : DMG: 114 Delay: 224 Sword skill +242 Parrying skill +242 DEX+20 "Chant du Cygne" Aftermath: Occ. deals double damage
- It seems to me that Bura is outclassed as a mainhand weapon by all the options, but maintains a strong position as an offhand option.
- Excalibur like an attractive mainhand in situations where you don't have AM. Between the extra damage procs and additional effect procs, it probably has the highest DPS without AM.
- Burtgang seems like an attractive mainhand in situations where you can maintain AM3 or want its damage reduction bonuses at the cost of Excalibur's superior DPS.
- Almace is kind of left out in the cold unless you know you're going to be spamming CDC in brief fights, at which point it *may* have a higher DPS than Excal or Burtgang. It also has the benefit of being usable by BLU. There are some specific dDEX cases where it would probably be worth offhanding this over Bura, but by and large you should probably just stick to Bura.
Exceptions (probably?) being Amano and Gungnir
Since wildskeeper adjustments are being made to bring old wkr to level 116, I feel confident that delve II is going to be additional 119 content, and we're entering a plateau stage in the vertical progression. Time to get horizontal again.
Had I been still playing, I would be pleased with these rem adjustments. Never finished Aegis to 99, so it wouldn't have been affected anyway since they didn't adjust shields and harps, but having Ukkon and Almace at 90 already, this would have been perfect. Don't think I'll come back but this would at least not make all previous work go to waste, and the Empys not having to be 99 is a huge thing, since last I played, Voidwatch was all but dead on Fenrir.
Empy's have to be 99 for the damage boost adjustment. Only have to be 90 for the WS to be unlocked..
also @ the WKR post: they say that it would take too many kills to make an item drop guaranteed...
Just fucking make the library quest repeatable. I'm sure people would be absolutely fine with that.
oh FFS dont bitch, did you really think a lvl 90 or 95 item would get a dmg boost? no thx, Relics and mythics are sitting on the same boat, they need to b 99 too
fucking great announcements, very excited and very please from the REM update and especially the WKR update! Fucking Finally!
I will eat shit if they also add GEO and RUN to some of the empy relics and introduce a mythic weapon for them at the same time!? (one can dream)
I kind of wonder how my my vere99 is going to stack up against Oatixur, Spharai and Glanzfaust after this adjustment. The ODD effect for h2h is rather weak compared to the other weapons. Atm it just seems like it would have the fastest attack speed of the 4 weapons.
My amano is 99 and probably won't bother doing the quest. If the damage is less that Tsurumaru, it will still shit all over Amano due to the save tp and delay. Amano's aftermath was great when store TP wasn't thrown around like a 5 dollar hooker on gear.
Totally forgot offhanding was a thing. Neat
Yeah great news for 1hd jobs. You no longer have to use an offhand that is significantly gimped in terms of dmg att and acc
Right, but all I cared about back when they first announced adjustments was the weapon skills. Yes the weapons themselves would be nice to still use since they look sweet, but I'd gladly take a higher damage weapon as long as I could use the old ws from an Empy. Sorry if that wasn't clear.
Rudra storm with my mandau?!? Oh my
Even better I can use cdc with my excal/mandau rdm bwhahha. So rebuilding my melee rdm
