Or somehow fixing this will allow negative def and pdif values making mob hits heal you lmao? Maybe negative acc too... they miss every hit and sometimes miss so badly they hit themselves!

The debuff on the new shield bash is probably earth element aligned. Fixing it will dick up the spaghetti and give the same effect to Full Break, once again proving Warrior is the best.
Since ammo add effects are reliable they will copy/paste some ammo code which will result in shields being expended like ammo. As a countermeasure Aegis will now stack to 99.
Eventually SE will tell us it is fixed we just aren't "using it right" and the right way is to floor the mobs meva as much as possible then have 8 cors do each of the corresponding quickdraws iaw elemental days of the week starting with the current day.
Interesting info from the devs that SAM and SMN abilities cannot be stolen from mobs since they are treated as different statuses for mobs.
We kind of knew this already based on how the Samurai mobs still use their TP moves after they unproc from Red terror in Dynamis. They go Meikyo -> Proc -> TP move spam.
So it looks like:
Stealable: Mighty Strikes, Hundred Fists, Blood Weapon, Invincible, Chainspell, Manafont, Azure Lore, Tabula Rasa (if any mob uses it?), Trance, Overdrive (if any mob uses it?), Spirit Surge (if any mob uses it?), and Soul Voice
Unknown: Perfect Dodge - Will the new ability miss or steal the ability? I think Steal always misses?
Unstealable from monsters: Benediction, Eagle Eye Shot, Meikyo Shisui, Astral Flow, Familiar, Wild Card, and Mijin Gakure.
I thought that was always apparent, since if Meikyo Shisui worked like the player's ones did we'd see SAM monsters do nothing but spam WSs over and over due to TP feed. Kinda disappointed they're not going to bother fixing it somehow.
Trance on monsters likely works basically the same as Meikyo since there's no actual DNCs or SCHs monsters in the game. There's monsters that have AI that simulates it but they don't use those specific abilities.
The play-as-a-monster system is sounding like it'll be a lot of fun to play around with, unlike some other stuff in the past like Chocobo Racing/Pankration. The problem with those events, for me, wasn't that they lacked rewards, but rather that SE has the mind-boggling "hands off, menu flipping" kind of gameplay when it came to minigames. Chocobo Racing is just you placing bets and then watching cutscenes for 20 minutes...who gives a shit. Pankration would've been fine if they had continued balancing it after its first introduction and found some way to alleviate traffic (waiting an hour just for your match to begin is beyond stupid), but they all but abandoned it after the initial go...some rebalancing and further customization of monsters would've been great. The FP limits on monster really made it so that you couldn't play around with the system without making a totally useless critter. (Shit like Terror Attack takes like 70 points all on its own, that's more than some pets get at max level total). Instead it just ended up being a war of chigoes, elementals, corses and mimics, all day every day. We couldn't make a black magic casting sheep and have it do well. The whole customization aspect just fell flat. Another thing that would've been great is if they allowed you to create EX custom monster jugs for BST using pankration.
While it'd be nice if they added rewards onto play-as-a-monster, it sounds like this time it'll actually be elaborate enough to be worth playing for its own sake- its sounding like you can attack players and other player monsters, and that's already linked to the "main game".
This is the only system of substance I await.
Please. fucking. attach. rewards. fuck.
I know how play as monster will end. Their inability to progress on salvage and the fact that they are developping meeble and play as monster shows that they are saving time for some reason.
My second translation post about play as a monster got half eaten by the forum while I was editing it (why the fuck does it do that?). I'm not retranslating it because there's already an official translation which combined both of the JP posts and contained exactly the same information.
I'm kind of interested to see how the whole play as monster system actually works out to be entirely honest. Sounds like something that could be kind of novel if they find some way to integrate it in some manner that doesn't make people ignore entirely which would be my only concern with it. I actually enjoyed Pankration and some of that stuff but most of that was already dead by the time I got into it, but it would be interesting to see one that is a bit more integrated in compared to those previous ones.
Dragon types > All. Just sayin'
Part of me wishes they would've linked this system to Pankration somehow, and expand on Pankration while they're at it. I mean, it would make sense- customize your own monster, then play as it. They already had to program combat data for the multiple possibilities created by Pankration so it's not like they'd have to do extra work.
Out of the non-lucrative hobbies (Chocobo Breeding, Racing, and Pankration), Pankration is the only one that was actually any good, IMO. It feels like they had so much more planned for it, then they just never did it for some reason.
In response to this post from the other thread:
I agree!
If they don't put rewards on it, I'll never end up doing it. If they do put rewards on it, I'll play it long enough to get all the good rewards.
the new THF SP not being able to steal meikyo and especially!? Astral flow because the Enemys that use them are coded differently, is utter bullshit. Basicly they just stacked a line of 3 abilitys when mobs use MS (SAM) and stack the astral flow bloodpact to the avatar when SMN mobs use AS. What kind of shit is that seriously...
SPs that cannot be stolen due to garbage codieng on mobs:
SAM
SMN
SCH (i have never encountered a mob use Tabula rasa)
DRG
SPs that cannot be stolen because they are instant and not buffs:
WHM
RNG
NIN
COR
SPs that are useless to steal because you would be able to do nothing with them:
BST
PUP
BLU
BRD
DNC
BLM
SPs you can steal and are/can be usefull:
WAR
MNK
DRK
PLD
THF (if the new SP doesnt miss on perfect dodge that is lol)
SPs that are useless to steal but can be a live saver:
RDM
This was only considering the old SPs. so THFs new SP is only usefull/semi-usefull on 5 out of 20 SPs... that looks very very very promising ¬.¬
it's still more useful than super ultra trick attack
Also, I'd put Manafont and maybe Azure Lore under the "can be a life saver" section. There's only really one enemy that comes to mind that uses Azure Lore (Raubahn), but if we had this at the time it would've made that part of the fight far easier.
