    Yeah, but they'd have to nerf and rebalance every event that we still do with an alliance (actually <100 monsters). After that, Ranger would be very competitive if Snapshot still worked the old way. Magic Damage would be far more competitive. Depending how Dual Wield/Martial Arts works, they would potentially offer a huge advantage that pushes everyone back to 1H weapons. It would almost entirely rebalance the game and push it back to 2005 in terms of the power dynamics of different jobs.

    they realised earlier how broken haste was, hence the cap they put on haste back then, which nerfed apoc DRK.

    I really dont think they will nerf haste more. in order to reach the cap nowadays you need 4 different sources: Embrava, Haste (magic), gear and ability haste from /sam/dnc (or other abilitys).
    After the embrava nerf you need then: double marches: 15.8% (no + march gear)/ 30.8%(gjallarhorn99 + aiodos +2), haste magic, gear and ability haste from /sam or DNC MAIN merited haste samba.

    Basicly need a gjallarhorn 99 to maintain constantly capped haste.

    I don't know if anyone else noticed, but I thought it was funny that whoever did the official translation of the Matsui post also used "half-assed" in the English translation (in the first quoted post about content). I kinda used it as a joke, I'm surprised they actually translated it that way too (would have expected like "unpolished" or "half-baked")... lol

    From what I can tell, you aren't planning to make any changes to the core battle system. It seems that right now the biggest problem with it is haste and its significantly increasing power. That being said, I think it's better to work on content for now and leave this for later.
    Is this a popular viewpoint among the JPs? Because haste is so far from the worst thing in the battle mechanics (thought it was pretty much understood that enmity is the most broke thing). This sounds like some JP Blm terrimad about Resolution.

    Haste comment must've come from a real butthurt mage. I doubt they'll actually do anything to it though.

    I don't think nerfing Haste is necessarily a bad thing if enemy difficulty is taken into consideration. Even as a melee I really want combat to involve magic damage and more than just a melee zerg mindset introduced again. Nerfing haste within reason would be a step towards that.

    Also, Neo Salvage coming in December update! I am so fucking psyched.

    Embrava/PD nerf before new SP's is a major kick in the balls. Gonna reduce Legion efficiency anyway.

    Are we sure we're getting the nerf this update ? I thought they were maybe reconsidering embrava if enough bad feedback happened, I hope it won't kill Legion, or synthetis material will never see the light of the day again .

    I am happy to see the update coming, especially for the new salvage content, but they really need to implement the new SPs asap. The whole point of the embrava/ PD nerf was that the new SPs and new timers would counter the need for it, no?

    Sucks the Embrava/Perfect Defense nerfs are happening first, although how much testing or feedback other than ppl inst-claiming content will be impossible did people really give other than speculation? SE probably has no clue what these nerfs will really screw with and just wanna make them live to force testing on them.

    They better have been doing a lot of freaking testing. When they first introduced the first set of Meeble Burrows expeditions to the test server, they were balanced horribly and had several glitches with the boons (some of which still exist) and the detection-based goals. It took like three iterations of adjustments over a 6 week period before they got them mostly fixed. The fact that we haven't seen any new expeditions on the test server, combined with the fact that testing Salvage is basically pointless right now, leaves me with low expectations. I'm hoping for the best, but there wasn't even a test server update this week.I'm assuming they'll want to get this out before Christmas, so that only leaves them two more potential test server update cycles, both of which would be rather pointless as they wouldn't really have any time to incorporate feedback anyway.

    I'm fairly sure they updated the test server without saying anything ~2 days ago. I don't know what they added, but I didn't have to download much.
