Seriously, how often do you have a potent DOT on during a cutscene to have the misfortune of dying in the middle of a CS?
Gosh guys, we have to stop the Keeper of the Apoca..... Sparthosx falls to the ground. 59:58sec. Return to Home Point? lol.

I like this very much:
Even if they do what they think it's best to make jobs balanced, just acknowledging that reality, or simply player perception can still make a job less desired, and the willingness to address that, makes me pretty happy. However, I understand that there is a chasm between the thoughts and ideas of the development side and the players. We will make the adjustments necessary based on everyone's feedback while closely monitoring the status in the future. We hope that you'll participate in this discussion in the future!
Also, and totally offtopic, but I had to say it some day: Why the hell do I always see Sagat doing a Tiger Knee in Slycer's avatar?? It doesn't make sense, but until I look at it carefuly, there he is, tigerkneeing like a king.
idk, you must be seeing things. Here's the close up:
Spoiler: show
Well, for H2H it is intrinsically a staple of the weapon; it's not possible to 'single-wield' a H2H weapon.
For katana, dagger, sword and club, though, the gap between single-wield and dual-wield damage is huge (as might be expected, since it's roughly equivalent to starting with a similar quantity of haste). Nin, dnc, thf and blu have native (or settable) DW traits, and given the difference in damage it's ludicrous to -not- consider DW the default config when balancing 1H weapons (though slighly less so for sword and club).
I will grant that the higher levels of DW are not good examples, since those are due to gear choices. However the base traits of 25%-35% should be considered as part of the baseline, which gives maximum haste values in the 70%-75% range, and it's that maximum that I was primarily concerned with.
The main issue would be whether the various weapons could be considered balanced against each other when you start with 0% haste, and I'd have to spend some time on the spreadsheets to see about that in the more general sense (takes a fair bit of time to work through each job).
I must say I'm rather impressed Matsui is personally responding to some of this stuff. You have to give him credit for being visible.

Bunch of not-so-important replies today. One really random one from Matsui talking about potential adjustments to the stat disparity between the different races.
As was said in our forums the base stats are fairly inconsequential, but the massive differences in Max HP between is an issue, especially in stuff like legion.
Personally I'd be all for a massive increase in Max HP (+50% ish) across the board, characters are just too damn delicate.
See, I don't mind the stat differences like STR and the such because in the grand scheme of thing they aren't a huge difference. Sure they obviously help but the difference is small-ish/acceptable.
I think the difference in HP is a partial problem though purely because of the damage output of certain enemies. The difference in survivability between a Galka/Elvaan and a Taru in an event like Legion is pretty substantial imo (I'm not a Taru for the record, I'm a Hume so at least in the middle).
I think out of the base stats, DEX is probably the only one that can potentially make a massive difference. 10 DEX between Mithra and Elvaan is still a bit to make up for.
Kinda wish they'd give more details on salvage already. Maybe that's coming tomorrow?![]()
Yeah, I agree, that has always irked me as a career taru who loves to DD. The fact that my choice in race is a "pre-existing condition" for me getting 1-shotted, no matter how skilled I am at my job, while others have no need to worry and don't need to keep HP@90~% at all times on certain mobs(sickle slash woes atm trying to farm THF leg seals).
The different stats by race was a cool gimmick back in the day but as the game reaches maturity I think they should scrap it really cus people just want to enjoy the last remnants of the game now and not be able to go to stuff on melee cus you're a taru is rubbish.
An HP bump for everyone would be great. But then they'd be like murrrr Abyssea. If they bump everyone up to 3k HP naturally (which'd be incredible) you'd end up with Monks running around abyssea with like 9k HP from gear, atma, and the new SP. It's already easy mode so who cares? Oughta just do that, say fuck it and let Abyssea be even more broken and soloable HP-wise.
Yeah, hp/mp should have gotten a much bigger boost from 75 -> 99.
As for the stats themselves... how to phrase this... I hope certain races don't suddenly see a drop in stats just to "normalize" them, although... I guess that's what they're thinking of doing anyway lol.
There is an obvious discrepancy between the damage some mobs can put out compared to the players, some more than others, ability to sustain. Going through and adjusting every mob's damage output is going to be a very time and labor intensive process. A possible quick solution would be to increase the potency of hp/mp merits.
Then everyone still merits HP and SE still makes monsters that can nail Galkas for 80% of their HP in full PDT gear (which still kill Tarus).
How about your capped hp/mp merits is based on your race. Elvaan and Galka would have higher caps for mp, where taru would have higher caps for hp.
